First Time Logging In

CHADD Exchange Home Page:

The first time you log on to the CHADD Exchange, you will see this page:

In the field that says “Your name as it will appear in CHADD Communities,” enter the name that you want the public to see. If you want to use a “nickname” to protect your privacy, enter it here. (You do not need to fill in both fields.) Then check the box to agree.

All members of CHADD Exchange automatically have access to set up and edit their profile.

To personalize your profile:• Click on the My Profile tab on the top navigation bar and select “Profile”• Upload a recent picture• Add your information & areas of interest

• Filling this in will help you connect with other members who share similar interests/backgrounds.

If you have already logged in and set up your profile and wish to edit your name/nickname, please follow the instructions below:

You will then see your CHADD membership profile:

You will then go to the CHADD Communities Nickname section of your profile and then type in your nickname. After you make your changes, you will need to go back to the CHADD Exchange site:

• Once you click Save, these changes should appear in your profile.

• HOWEVER, if you look at your own profile, you will still see all of your information.

CHADD Exchange features online communities, including parents, adults with ADHD, spouses/partners, educators, and more. Each community has its own corresponding discussion group (interactive message board) and library. Each community’s privacy settings determine who can or cannot join or view the communities and its discussion board and library.

Private Communities are controlled by the CHADD National Office• For example, Board of Directors

Public Communities are open to all CHADD members• Examples are Parents or Young Adults with ADHD• You can join these Communities by going directly to the

community’s homepage and clicking on Join

To participate in a Community you must:

Search by Keyword

Or browse by Community

Type

Go to the All Communities

page

1. Find the Community you’d like to join:

Click on the name of the community you’d like to join

Real Time, Daily Digest, Legacy or No Emails

We recommend Daily Digest

Make your selection and hit the Save button

3. Choose your subscription settings:

Go to The Communities Select the Community

Discussions “All Discussion”

Select the group Click on the Discussion

tab at the top of the page.

To Post a New Message – Click on ‘Post New Message’

Reply to discussion◦ All subscribers see your response

Reply to sender ◦ Only the sender sees your reply

Responding via the message digest sent to your email box

Step 1. Click on the subject that you would like

to discuss

Step 2: Click on “Reply to

discussion” Your internet browser will open and take you to CHADD exchange to

post your message. (If your cookies are not enabled, you may be prompted to log on

Step 3: Post reply directly on the community discussion page and click “send” to post for all of the people participating in the conversation to see.

Click on View Thread in any message window.

View Thread◦ Shows a listing of all the messages in that

particular discussion thread, from the first posted message to the last.

Message Digest◦ Shows a listing of all of the posted messages in a

community ordered by date, showing the most recent message first, and is sent via email.

Follow the steps as shown on the following.

Click on “reply to discussion”

You will then be redirected to “Post a reply” on CHADD Exchange

Scroll Down

Click on “attach” to attach a file to your post.

Click Here

Find the file that you want to attach.

Click here – then find the file that you want to include on your computer

Select your file and click “open”

Click on Upload File(s)

Click “Next”

Enter the title, description and owner and click “next”.

Add Tags – This will help others find your document when conducting a search for information.

Click Finish

Click “Send” and you should then see this message. Your message and document will post in the thread and subscribers will be notified by email.

You can:◦ Search Library◦ Comment on individual

documents Note: Users are not notified when

comments are added here. Comments are limited to 100 words

Click on the Library you want to see and a listing of posted documents will appear

Click on the document title to download and make comments.

Click on Add a Comment to comment

◦ This is the signature block that shows in CHADD Exchange posts and emails.◦ Go to: The Communities/Community Discussions/My Signature

Edit – and “Save”

How do I unsubscribe from a Discussion Forum?

1. Go to the Community Discussions tab and select Subscription Preferences

2. Find the Discussion Forum and select No Emails.

3. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and hit Save.
