SSN Masking on ADP Reports

ADP masks Social Security Numbers on all standard    payroll reports such as the Autopay Master Control

Social Security Numbers are masked on all paper output Management ReportsNote:  If a Management Report produces a file  (instead of paper), that file is encrypted until it is loaded.

Social Security Numbers are also masked on the Quarterly Wage and Tax Register

SSN Masking Exceptions

SSN are not masked on paper copies of W2s

SSN are not masked on reference copies of Quarterly Wage Reports for State Unemployment Insurance (SUI) jurisdictions

SSN Display Options

MASK DISPLAY Only last four digits are displayed Example XXX‐XX‐1234

BLOCK DISPLAY Social Security Numbers will not appear at all

FULL DISPLAY Entire Social Security Number will display

Note: Full Display is not recommended. ADP recommends keeping Social Security Numbers Blocked or Masked.

Bank Account Masking

Bank Account Display Options

MASK DISPLAY Transit/ABA routing numbers will be displayed as all X’s. Employee bank account numbers will be displayed as all X’s 

with only the last 4 digits displayed.

BLOCK DISPLAY Transit/Routing/Bank Account Numbers will not appear at all

FULL DISPLAY Entire Transit/Routing and Bank Account Number will display

Note: Full Display is not recommended. ADP recommends keeping Employee Bank Account Numbers Blocked or Masked.

Suspicious email, phone call or text message (looks like it is coming from ADP) Step 1: Let ADP know about it right away Step 2: Forward the original email you received as an attachment or a description of the phone call or text message to abuse@adp.com. 

Step 3: ADP will contact you or your employer as appropriate. Step 4: ADP will take action to address any suspicious events.
