challenges such as executing re-modelling of branches

whilst business is still operating.

When executing works in shopping malls we are required

to minimise construction related noise and dust. This require

re-planning our works to coincide with the mall’s quiet hours.

Environmental

15

• Recently we have adopted an Environmental Policy.

• The Policy was embraced by the Leadership as well as senior staff.

• Having committed ourselves to the Environmental Policy, we were encouraged to comply with the

Policy Principles as well as Legislation.

• This resulted in the need of adapting our production infrastructure to meet the required environmental

standards to which we have committed.

• New dust extraction equipment were acquired, our procurement procedures were updated and our

production methods were altered to meet the legislated standards.

• We aligned our storage practices by creating a Hazardous Material Store, re-arranging how we store

different material in the bulk store, and negotiating with suppliers a “draw-off” supply contract. This

changes also gave rise to pilferage being negated.

• Re-aligning our waste material disposal benefitted the informal economy. Most of the waste material

like wood off-cuts and wooden pallets are now delivered to an informal economy business hub hich

results in enhanced the informal employment market.
