Italy has the world’s fourth largest gold reserves, coming after the USA and Germany, going beyond France and china. The country is also well-known for Italian gold jewelry designs, fashion industry and its influential and innovative business economic sector.

o Larger volume of gold used with or without colored stones and/or diamonds.

o Larger and bolder jewelry than other European countries. Fuller and more curvaceous sections and curves.

o Strong emphasis on a jointing and linking.

o New designs and trends are always welcomed.

Yellow 18k gold is most popular.

Different colors of gold (e.g. rose colored gold with high copper content) are becoming popular.

High quality of finish. Emphasis is on “smoothness” with very high polish.

There is a movement towards using different textures, twisting and pleating.

Italy has been famous through out history as the manufacturer of finest gold jewellery, particularly in Europe.

The quality of gold content, its exquisite designs and un-matched craftsmanship all speak for the excellence of Italian jewelry.

Italian jewelry is still well liked through out the world although Italy has slipped from its number one gold product manufacturer status as China, India and Turkey are closely following by.

In Italy mostly 18 carat gold is used, but other higher gold carats are used as well. Also various colors of gold are used including the usual white and yellow and also two toned and three toned gold.

The gold industry of Italy has a long history. It can be traced back to almost 3,000 years ago.

The records and findings show that manufacture of fine gold jewellery in Italy was started by the people of Tuscany, who were known as Etruscans at that time.

Much of their exquisite work has been found and is exhibited in various museums. Their intricate designs were breathtakingly wonderful.

They are well loved even today and are painstakingly duplicated to preserve the majestic Italian heritage.

The Italian gold industry is one of the largest gold industries in the world.

The sheer size of Italian gold industry can be estimated as nearly 500 tons of fine gold alone are processed in one year.

More than 10,000 companies are involved in the gold business, providing employment for almost 40,000 people.

Most of the Italian gold industry is concentrated in five regions of Italy, making these places well-known especially for gold.

These places include Veneto, Tuscany, Piedmont, Lombardy and Campania

Italians are proud of their gold industry.

There are a number of Goldsmith Designer Schools to transfer the centuries old knowledge about jewelry making as well as training them to use new techniques.

Gold festivals are a regular event in Italy showcasing latest items and trends, which are a must-attend for all the Italian gold lovers!!!

Diamonds of fancy shapes like tapered baguettes and square princess cut are becoming popular.

Solitaires are becoming popular. Fancy cut precious and semi-precious

stones especially high-domed cabochons and multi faceted ”D” section shapes.

More use is made of pearls especially large dome pearls in a simple surround.

Pave, channel, claw and bezel settings are most common.

Chains, clasps, findings. Large bold neckwear. Heavily stone-set dress rings.

Italy is also well known for the vast variety of jewelry kinds.

Apart from the usual necklace, bracelet, anklet, rings, bangles, charms and brooch, it is also famous for the religious jewelry it produces.

Religious jewelry is available for a number of faithful followers. It includes various kinds of Christian crosses, gold crosses, saint medallions, Celtic jewelry, catholic crucifixes and many more.

As the prices of gold are increasing day by day, it is affecting everyone. The Italian goldsmiths have cleverly started making large pieces of jewelry having less gold in weight and it is the latest trend in town and so are the “Y” shaped necklaces.

Rings are getting bolder and bolder with cluster of precious/semi precious stones.

The good thing about Italian jewelry is that it is available for all budget limits. You can look for items according to their designs as well as according to their price limits.

o A collection of rings, earrings and necklaces in white gold, rose gold and diamonds showcase the exceptional design and craftsmanship of Italian jewellery.

o Gold bands woven together are brightened by preciousness of diamonds, which coil up like lacework of rare beauty.

o The ring is crafted from white and pink gold and set with diamonds.o An innovative collection, eclectic, modern, chic design available in four different shades of gold: yellow, pink and the new black and brown. Master goldsmiths used special techniques to create the distinctive "textured" surface on these jewels.

Stainless steel jewelry from Italy is one of the hottest things in the jewelry market today.

It is very chic and modern. This jewelry uses various materials

such as 18k, stones, leather, and rubber.

The use of these materials gives the jewelry a very innovative look.

New designs are constantly entering the market, so have fun with it!

Stainless Steel Jewelry

The idea came out of Italy, and they were manufactured in Italy, so they became known as 'Italian Charms'.

The original idea was to make a bracelet that tells a story. Each person puts together their own story with these stainless steel individual charms.

First a starter bracelet is chosen, then over time individual charm links can be added.

The craze hit America a few years back and is still going strong.

The original size was called 9mm. Now there are also 7mm and 13mm widths which look great layered on the wrist or placed on the ankle.

Men and kids love them too!

Italy is well renowned for its exquisite design and fashion taste.
