• A train service operates across the main areas of the city; however, this is predominantly focused on commuter transport.
• Metered taxis are freely available but ideally you should call ahead to book and use only registered services.

• Practical safety tips, key security procedures and contact numbers are available at all Cape Town Tourism Visitor information Centers, on our website, Visitors Guides and maps.
• Safety numbers should be kept on hand, such as the emergency hotline, South African Police and National Park emergencies numbers.
• Cape Town Tourism and Protection and Emergency Services run a Visitor Support Programme to assist you, should you be involved in an incident.
