31. Code of ethics for research followed by the department:
The department articulate a common set of values upon which education researchers build their
professional and scientific work. The Department is committed to undertaking research with
scientific integrity and in conformity with the accepted code of principles on Good Research
Practices. Educational researchers aim to extend knowledge and understanding in all areas of
educational activity and from all perspectives including learners, educators, government,
policymakers and the public. The Association recognizes that the community of educational
researchers is multi-disciplinary and that within the paradigms and methodologies adopted by the
various disciplines and often variously by their sub-disciplines, a variety of concepts may be
problematic. Examples among these are the concepts of ‘data’, ‘reliability’, ‘validity’,
‘subjectivity’ and ‘objectivity’. Researchers are aware and comply with the ethical and lega l
requirements relating to human participants and their disclosures of personal information, any
material transfer and testing, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism before undertaking
research. All researchers follow the standard procedures for conducting research laid down by
Research doctorate committee of host University.

From the session 2015-16 department is switching to two years program from one year of
B.Ed/M.Ed. Preparations of two years program is now started. Methodology adopted was as
follows:
1. A letter was sent to Academic Council- SGVU on Dated: 09 Feb. 2015
Sub.: Agenda in regard to preparation for 15th meeting of the Academic Council [AC],
scheduled on Saturday, the 28 February 2015. Ref. letter SGVU/EDU/2014-15/60
2. Second letter was send on 19-Feb-15
In connection to the Ref. letter SGVU/EDU/2014-15/60 dated 9th Feb. 2015
3. Preparations of syllabus and teaching and examination schemes are now under process
through faculty meeting followed by BOS.
4. Meeting regarding the syllabus and teaching and examination schemes were held in the
dept in presence of external experts.
5. Final draft of syllabus and teaching and examination schemes according to new norms
will be presented in BOS-SGVU for final approval.

department utilize the feedback?
Yes
Curriculum updating procedure as well as teaching- learning-evaluation through faculty
feedbacks.
The faculty members give their feedback in the Departmental Committee meetings held
frequently, and also as members of various academic bodies, such as Board of Studies /
Faculty of Education / Academic Council, etc. Based on the feedback from the faculty,
the curriculum is updated / revised, and steps taken for inculcating a conducive teaching
– learning environment. It is also emphasized through feedbacks that teaching learning
procedures should be learner centered. The teachers also give their feedback on
evaluation methodology of students in such meetings.
(b)Students on staff, curriculum and teaching-learning-evaluation and how does the
department utilize the feedback?
Yes,
Staff, curriculum & teaching learning-evaluation are done on the basis of
student’s feedbacks whenever required. Student feedback forms are obtained from
the students, wherein students freely express their evaluation of teaching –
learning process. The student feedback forms are discussed in the meetings of the
Departmental Committee, which suggests / initiates / monitors the remedial
actions required.
(c) Alumni and employers on the programmes offered and how does the department
utilize the feedback?
Yes, Alumni are invited in the “Alumni Meet” and also in the “Guest Lectures” held by
the Alumni, in the department. In addition, the Alumni also frequently meet the teachers
in the department, and give their feedback. The feedback is appropriately discussed in
the various academic bodies, and requisite actions are initiated. Representatives from
prospective employers are members of the academic bodies, such as Board of Studies,
Research Degree Committee, Faculty / Academic.
