Characteristics My animal is a Jaguar. It's a vertebrate because it has a

backbone and it's a mammal.It is tan or orange,

has black spots, with a brawled head, powerful jaw, and grows to 30 inches, and

350 pounds, with fur.Its warm blooded, and it's life span is 23 years. Jaguars mate year

round. Jaguars traits are large, wild, and graceful.

LivesA jaguar lives in the wild, and

also lives in Texas, in the CERRO mountains in

Arizona, Southern part of California, New Mexico, and South America forests. The types of shelter it uses are

swamps, forests, grasslands and dens. A jaguar keeps

moving and it lives in a group called ‘The Felidae Family’.

What does it eat?A jaguar is a carnivore, that

means it eats meat. But first they start off by

drinking milk from their mother, then after 2 years it eats meat. Animals that

jaguars like to eat are capybaras, peccaries,

tapirs, turtles, and alligators.

Interesting factsA jaguar catches it's prey

by sneaking up on it, jumping on it, and giving it

a powerful bite. Also a jaguar catches it's prey

daily. It needs good hearing, sharp claws, and it's powerful bite to catch

it's prey.

endangered but threatened. Also there are eleven species of a jaguar.

Talents of a jaguar are that it has a powerful bite,

it jumps far, and it is the best swimmer in the cat family. Farming, building roads, mines, and towns took away their habitats.
