7 ways to look for powerful planets

1. Planets influencing the 11th & 12th from the Pada Planets influencing (joined or rasi aspecting) the 11th Rasi from the Pada are the planets that make the person successful. The 11th is the house of income, getting paid, of getting ahead (Jaimini gives no effect to the 11th house from the Svamsa in the D9)

● Reminder: we count forward when Pada is in a masculine sign. We count reverse when the Pada is in a feminine sign. ● Benefits gained from right ways (waxing moon, Jupiter, Venus, Mercury not joined a malefic). “Right way” meaning in an easy

way● Malefics will get you ahead but with stress or potentially illegal ways. So, ideally, we want benefics there.● Exaltation will give the most success, debilitated will get the least.● Mercury will give power in the field of law or business, Moon or Mercury will give power as a healer.● Mars will give gain through real estate● Jupiter will give gain through charity/giving. Influencing 11th house, it means people will give you donations (Ernst has made

more money doing donation-based reading than by fixing a price).

Planets influencing (joined or Rasi Aspecting) the 12th from the Pada are the planets that will cause losses.● Sun, Rahu and Venus can cause loss of wealth or setbacks from the government. For ex, having to pay a lot of taxes one year

or speeding tickets. Moon in aspect = it will most certainly happen. Sun and Venus are the father. So could also indicate what your spouse or your father takes from you. If Venus is influencing the 12th, it doesn't mean you should not marry, it can give you a wonderful marriage but it will incur a lot of expenses (or other venutian things like cars/vehicles).

● Mercury rules litigations, gamblings, speculations, businesses that can cause expenses, investments. Will tend to cause more expenses. May be making a lot of money in business but will lose in gambling or getting sued. Overall, it will mean losing prospects if influencing the 12th. Vishnu mantra is great for that.

● Jupiter’s influencing the 12th, loss through goodwill, charity, a lot of money goes out. ● Mars and Saturn cause losses due to siblings. Or real estate (Mars)

1. Planets influencing the 11th and 12th from the Pada (2/2)

● Jaimini never tells us how to work with the vargas but he hints that if we learn the technique well in the Rasi, then we can do it well in the vargas. So best to first look at the Pada in the Rasi. We can do it in the varga but the information will only be relevant to the varga. D12 in the context of your parents for example. If the time of birth is correct, we can also look at D60. For health issues and trying to figure out a medical treatment, check out D30 (if Mars, acupuncture is influencing the 11th, great, but waste of money if influencing the 12th). In the D9, if Mars influences 11th, martial arts together as a couple helps, tandem bikes, etc…

● Enemy will give but good dignity will give more. Planets influencing the 12th house will give you something but overall will incur more expenses. For example, Lance A, his wife gave him a lot but ended up costing more. If exalted, won’t take more than it gives but, if debilitated, it will take more than it gives.

● Give them a mantra for when they run the dasa of these planets so they don’t get involved in those expenses, though they probably will unless they work hard at it. Mars = don’t get involved in jewelry making if influencing 12th house but most of the time, these people are meant to get involved in it to learn their lesson.
