bassoon players in the
western hemisphere. The
concert is sponsored by
Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser
and Otterbein North Shore Senior Lifestyle Community
Services with accommodations by Our Guest Inn.
Following the concert, there will be a reception for the
audience to meet the artists. Tickets are available at the

admitted free of charge.
Angel Gift Cards Remember the “Angel Window” note cards from the
early 90’s?? They sold out quite quickly! We will be
offering a re-printing of them in December in packs of 6
for your use or to give as gifts. They will be $6.00 per
pack or 2 for $10.00. All proceeds will go to the General
Fund of Firelands Church. Packets of cards are on the
gathering table.
Do you like our new banners and paraments?
Anita Fisher has designed some beautiful banners and
paraments and she has some great ideas for Lent. So if
you would like to see more new creations, please make
a donation to the church decoration fund. It is from this
fund that Anita pays for her fabric to make these
beautiful additions to our church.

New Beginnings Letter TO: Members of Firelands Presbyterian Church
FROM: The New Beginnings Leadership Team (NBLT):
Ed Carlson, leader and members Mary Caracci , Jim
Wagnitz, Maxine Wilson, Dave Wahlers, John Mcintosh,
and Joyce Jagucki.
At our last meeting together, we became aware that
just because we know we are meeting, perhaps you do
not know that we are meeting, or what we are doing.
Many of you participated in the small groups this past
summer and we are so grateful to all of you who shared
your thoughts and feelings about: the options we were
asked to consider; the many potential ways for serving
our community; and what we should look like as the
body of Christ at Firelands Presbyterian Church.
The NBLT has reviewed all the very good work done by
the four small groups and we are now trying to process
it. As we discuss how we need to respond to the
societal changes that have negatively impacted us, as
well as most churches, i n order to better serve our
community and congregation, your input will be ve ry
helpful. We are also doing a lot of reading and
discussing, as we try to discern what God is doing in our
community and how He wants us involved in his mission
locally.
We have met twice and have our third meeting set up
for Jan. 15th. Some of us gather at the church, and Ed,
Mary, and Jim join us via the computer. Should you
have questions or concerns, please talk with one of us.
We will keep you informed as we move forward. One
thing we know for sure after our first two meetings is
that this is a process which will take time. There are no
magic buttons to push which will give us clarity of
purpose and definitive directions and next steps. We ask
for your prayers as we listen intently for guidance from
the Holy Spirit as we seek to be a sailboat church,
trusting that the wind of God will fill our sails and
propel us forward.

Worship and Music – Kay McIntosh. This year,
fifteen volunteers & friends decorated more simply for
Advent, putting up two trees and hanging wreaths

services and our own Firelands Folk Group played on
December 7th. Families and friends lit the Advent wreath
each week. The Port Clinton Ministerial Assoc.

Preschool News December was another very busy and fun month for our preschoolers. We spent a week doing gingerbread activities and crafts. We even baked and decorated our own sugar cookie gingerbread men. We learned all about the Very First Christmas and the reason why we celebrate. The kids were busy practicing their parts and singing songs for our Christmas Program. When we weren't practicing we made reindeer food for Christmas Eve, grew candy canes from peppermint candy, and made variety of Christmas crafts. Somewhere in between we learned the letters E and H, worked on patterns, counting, shapes, etc.! Thank you to Mrs. D and Coach Coffin for coming in to spend time with our kiddos!
