Quarter one is completed and quarter two will be flying by. Be sure to visit our new Google Page: https://sites.google.com/rhnet.org/rhshscounselingcenter/home and continue to monitor your Naviance account and pay close attention to application and scholarship deadlines.

1. Mid-year grade report. We do not automatically send in mid-year grades to everycollege. If your college requires a mid-year report, email Mrs. Ottman or completea blue sheet, which is available from Mrs. Gallagher in the counseling office.

2. Create a complete checklist of test dates, college applications, and scholarshipdeadlines to keep track of. It is a good idea to call and follow up on applications andscholarships before their due date to make sure they have everything they need. SeeMrs. Ottman in the counseling center, or you can call the college directly by clicking onthe college link and scrolling to the bottom.

3. Investigate sources of financial aid and scholarships under the College & CareerCenter and college-specific websites. There are many new scholarships listed and newones being added daily in Naviance. Start applying to the ones you qualify for today.Don't forget to submit a transcript request for each scholarship.

4. Senior appointment: If you haven't done so already, schedule your senior appointmentas soon as possible with Mrs. Gallagher in the counseling center, you can contact her at359-5220 or email her at cgallagher@rhnet.org. During this session, your counselor willdiscuss graduation requirements, post-high school plans and other pertinent topics.As always, we are here to help in any way.

Five Hour PrelicensingThis is a virtual version of the New York State 5-hour prelicensing course that will be held via Google Meet. Students will complete the necessary materials required to earn a New York State Department of Motor Vehicles MV-278 certificate which is required to schedule a road test.

Students must show their valid NYS Learner’s Permit to the instructor during the first class. To participate in this virtual, interactive class, students must have a gmail account and have access to a computer with a camera and microphone. They must be visible for the duration of each class in order to qualify for a certificate.

After completion of this class, call 359-7805 to schedule an appointment for the student to sign and pick-up their certificate. They must bring their valid photo New York State Learner’s Permit to that appointment.

A two-day virtual 5-hour prelicensing course will be held via Google Meet onTuesday & Thursday, January 12 & 14, from 5-7:30 p.m. The course cost is $49.Register online for DA30V1 following the instructions below.
