Day 1: DepartonyourovernightflighttoDublin.

Days 2 - 4:WillbeDublinbased.Days2-3will focusonthe lifeofMattTalbotandwillbeginwithHolyMassattheMattTalbotShrine inDublin’s innercitytobefollowedbyawalkingtourofMatt’s lifeamongthepoorof inner-cityDublinpriortohiscon-version.OnDay3wewillbemovingquiteabitsoseetheplacesMattTalbotfrequentedafterhegaveupthedrinkincludingthespot where he died on Granby Lane and where he was laid to rest in Glasnevin cemetery.MassonDay3willbeatthePro Cathedral whereMattwasbaptized.OnDay4wewillbeginthedaywithMassatSt. Agatha’s churchwhereyou’llseesomeofMatt’sbe-longingsandthenifbycontrast,wewillbeintroducedtoDublin’sgrandandculturedlife...andonallthreeeveningsafterdinner...

Day 5:We head north to Newgrange, Hill of Tara and Drogheda where we will visit the 5,000 year Neolithic Ritual Centre at Newgrange, stand on the Hill of Tara where 142 kings were crowned and then into Drogheda to visit the shrine of St. Oliver Plunkett at St. Peter’s where we will have evening MassDay 6:We leaveDroghedacity inthereasonablyearlymorningtovisitSt Patrick’s Purgatory Lough Derg, Ireland’sancientandcelebratedpenitentialislandwhereMasswillbeoffered.WewillhavetheopportunitytoexperiencetheprayerfulbeautyofthisHoly landbeforeheadingoff Yeat’s country in Co Sligo toviewitsmagnificentsceneryenroutetoIreland’sNationalEucharisticShrineinKnock.ArrivinghereintheearlyeveningtherewillbetimeafterdinnertovisittheApparitionchapelaswellaswatchamoviefeaturingthepeoplesandlandscapewhichwehavejour-neyed through that day.

Day 7:SeesusvisitingthehomeofSrIgnatiaGavin,‘the Angel of Alcoholics Anonymous’ in Castlebar as we proceed to Ballintub-ber AbbeytocelebrateHolyMass.TheancientBallintubberAb-beyliesatthestartofStPatrickWay,the20mileroutethatleadstothetopofStPatrick’smountain(Croagh Patrick).AfterMasswejourneyontoStPatrick’smountainandthenonwardstotheBenedictineMonastery ofKylemore Abbey, (Connemara),withitsbeautifullakeandVictoriangardens.HerewemustbecarefultoreturntotheKnockHouseHotelingoodtimeforthegala din-ner at which the bishop will attend. The gala dinner will be accom-paniedandfollowedbysometraditionalIrishMusic.

Day 8:BeginswithSundayMassbeingcelebratedintheAppari-tion Chapel in Knockafterwhichpilgrimswillhavetheopportu-nitytomeetandhearthegrace-filledtestimonyofKnock-basedCenacolo community members who have overcome the livesofcriminalityanddrug-dependency.Thereafter it isoff toCong (Connemara)tovisititsAbbeyhavehighteainoneofthegreatHotelsoftheworld,Ashford Castle and walk in the grounds along itspicturesquelakeshore.ThenitbackonthebustoreturntoourhotelinKnockforalightsupperandaJohnWayneMovie,‘The Quiet Man’ whichwasflimedinCongin1951.

Day 9:SeesusmovingfurtheralongtheWild Atlantic Way in the directionoftheKingdomofKerrybywayofthemagnificentCliffs of Moher and the Burren country. Taking a ferry across the Shan-non we will proceed on down to KillarneywhereMasswill becelebratedintheCathedralthatevening.Afterdinnertherewillbeplentyoftimetotakeinthesightsandsoundsofthistouristmecca.

Day 10: The ‘Ring of Kerry’ is rightly regarded as one of theWorld’smostsceniccoastalroutesandisa‘must-do’foreveryonewhovisitsIrelandforthefirsttime.Althoughonly150milesindis-tanceittakesafulldaytotravelthecoastlinearoundtheIveragh peninsulabecauseasmuchtimewillbespentoutofthebusasonit.ThateveningafterMassanddinnerthefamousDavidLeanmovie, ‘Ryans daughter’willbescreened inanticipationofourtravelsonDay11.

Day 11:We start thedaybyheading forDingle and Slea Head wherewewillbeabletoencounteranotherfacetofancientIrishMonasticism,gazeouttotheBlasketIslandsandcelebrateMassin a typical Irish country parish church. The Dingle peninsula like thatofIveraghisacountrysideofoutstandingnaturalbeautyandwewillenjoythelandscapebeforeheadingofftoBunratty folk park wherewewill enjoy an evening of traditional IrishMusiceveninginafacsimileofanIrishvillageofbygonedays.

Day 12:AfterMassandbreakfasttherewillbeanopportunityto‘stretch’one’s legsonlasttimebeforebeingbroughttotheair-porttoflybackhome,rested,invigoratedandwithlotsofstoriestosharewithyourlovedonesandcolleaguesaboutyourtimeinIrelandjourneyinginthefootstepsofPatrick,inthecompanyofMattandyourmanynewfriends.
