Outline
Policy frame for natural capital, ecosystems, ecosystem services assessments in Europe
SEEA EEA in EU: the EEA role, approach and results SEEA CF and SEEA EEA in Eastern Partnership countries
SEEA Volume 1 “Central

Basic Structure and Relationship of Classes to TEEB Classification
KIP INCA : Knowledge & Information Partnership for Integrated Natural Capital Accountingin 2020
Output to land and ecosystem extent, condition and service accounting:• Land and ecosystem extent accounts, in data viewer cube 2000, 2006, 2012, 2018
for 39 countries (based on LEAC and CORINE Land Cover) • Ecosystem condition accounts• Water accounts and marine fish biomass accounts• Report “Natural capital accounting in support of policymaking in Europe- a review
based on EEA ecosystem accounting work”• KIP INCA partner & input to SEEA-EEA review process• EEA Cross-cutting priority project on EU integrated ecosystem assessment• ENI SEIS II East project sharing knowledge
EEA role in SEEA EEA:
• The CORINE Land Cover (CLC) inventory was initiated in 1985 (reference year 1990) to standardize data collection on land in Europe to support environmental policy development. Updates were produced in 2000, 2006, 2012 and 2018. Change layers were produced for 2000, 2006, 2012 and 2018.
• Land accounts in data viewer cube 1990, 2000, 2006, 2012, 2018 for 39 countries (based on LEAC and CORINE Land Cover)
EEA: Land and ecosystem extent accounts (LEAC)
EEA: CORINE Land cover 2000-2018 change and LEAC
Ecosystem condition accounts on spatial nutrient pressures, biodiversity and freshwater condition

EEA: ENI SEIS II East Project
• A regional project to support EU policies and external policy framework (Eastern Partnership) with a regular reporting on environment
• A contribution to the pan-European assessment process
• Sharing European Environment Agency knowledge and EU best practices
• Capacity building project funded by the European Union
• 1st Regional Project Steering Committee in 2016 identified environmental accounting highly relevant and requested capacity building.
