On a personal note…. Hello! Ok, usually I try and write about the readings from the week or some topic that is placed on my mind or just something interesting. Today I am going to say a few things from my heart. Last weekend was the Feast of Corpus Christi, or the Body of Christ. It was an amazing, beau-tiful day and the turnout was wonderful! I have been here a few years now, and I’m sure it was the largest Mass attendance and processional I’ve seen. The homilies were wonderful! Each altar was decorated beautifully and the singing, chanting and dancing was glorious! I’m sure God was smiling on this community. And then the presentation for the Pillars of the Parish, as well as the amazing lunch, were standing room only. I have to say, it was one of the most grati-fying days I have spent at St. Anthony! Some, however, were still unhappy. Some complained about the wind. And the shade. And the sun. And the umbrellas. And the music. And the food. And I could go on. Last Saturday morning, we held our first meeting of the new Community Council, and we were thrilled with the 3 new people who came! To be honest though, there are 1800 registered families in the parish and I was hoping for a few more. I understand many of you have already served on countless committees over the years and some are so busy with family commitments, another volunteer spot just isn’t possible. I get that. But please know that those who can serve are trying continuously to come up with new ideas and to make every event or gathering, one that will fill your heart with the Spirit of Christ. If you have any ideas for how to make the Corpus Christi Mass and processional better next year, please let me know! If you have ideas for upcoming events that you think we should do here at the parish, please, let me know! Even if you can’t attend the meetings, feel free to post on our Facebook page, www.facebook.com/stanthonydsm/, send me an email at mhill@stanthonydsm.org, or give me a call at 515-244-4709. Sunday, June 25th, Mi2You youth group, 5-7pm. All about APPS! Watch for our upcoming Bocce and Brats picnic, movies in August and September, and
Fall Festival September 15-17. Great things are happening! This year’s VBS program, “Growing with the Saints – Tracking Mary!” July 10-14, for kids
grade K-6. Register now, in the elevator foyer. Older kids and adults are needed to volun-teer – call or email me!
Youth retreat for grades 8-12 on July 15th, here at the church! God’s blessings to you all, Melissa

Parishioners,
What a wonderful turnout for the bi-lingual grotto Mass and the Corpus Christi procession last
Sunday. It turned out to be a great day to give public witness to our faith and to ask the Eucha-
ristic Lord to bless our neighborhood and our entire parish.
I want to thank all who have planned and worked for the success of the procession this year—
the organizing team especially Nick Iaria, the grand marshall, songsters, the servers and
M.C.’s, to those who prepared the beautiful altars at the stations, our Hispanic band and dancers, Thanks to the
Knights of Columbus , and the tram drivers and the Dowling band—God Bless and reward you all. A special thank you to
our Hispanic sisters who prepared and helped serve our meal following the procession. It was a great meal. Thanks to
the Altar & Rosary Society for the wonderful cakes, cookies and sweets provided for us for our Hispanic meal.
Here is the prayer at the angel of Fatima . I invite you to pray it often:
Congratulations to our 2017 Pillars of the Parish! They are: Todd & Deb Bordenaro, Ned P. Chiodo, Esther Giacomuzzi,
Larry & Carolyn Hawk, Pat Renda, Michael Sullivan, Paul Tursi and Rev. Dr. Dave Wadle.
I will be away on vacation this next week visiting civil war sites.

The Most Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, I adore you profoundly, and I offer you the Most Precious Body, Blood,
Soul, and Divinity of the same Son Jesus Christ, present in the Tabernacles of the world, in reparation for all the sacri-
leges, outrages and indifferences by which He Himself is offended. And by the infinite merits of His Most Sacred
Heart and through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg of you the conversion of poor sinners. Amen.
