(Together, we make neighborhood)

The city belongs to the set of all citizens. And you need to seek consensus to define its structure and

to satisfy the desires and needs of all the residents.

It is for this reason that the Municipality of Gava has launched the " Together, we make

neighborhood" program, a participatory process that aims to citizens vote to development projects

to improve public space wants to be held.

To disseminate the process of program brochures were distributed throughout the town and banners

were hung at strategic points in the city.

Phase 1: recopilacions for Proposals. The City proposed 38 actions to improve urban pubblico

space. During the 1 and July 21 any person or group could add other actions deemed appropriate.

Participation could be via the web or by completing a ballot that were distributed in different parts

of the city. Here a ballot design shown.

Phase 2: ratings. Citizens could vote through www.gavaciutat.cat portal or in person at 20 polling

points enabled. (Down the ballot paper).

The voting results are:

43 ballots were considered invalid for various reasons: mostly ballots without identifying the

required registration data and incorrect scores.

The voting results were:

Without responsibility, without commitment, there are no smart cities. “Together we make

neighborhood” is an example of this: a process of open participation and direct vote promoted by

the Municipality of Gava which is citizenship who prioritizes improvement projects to make public

space in the city.
