- SURVEY QUESTION 2
- Slide 5
- Is the bus schedule convenient to your schedule? Findings:
About 53.06% of the 49 students surveyed say that the bus is
convenient to them and about 51.02% say that it is not convenient
to them. About 4.08% say that it did not apply to them.
Analysis/Thoughts: Some responses included: Last semester I
commuted 4hrs on the bus to get to school. So not convenient. It
does not run late or early enough to my area for my class, club,
and work schedule. The time in between the buses to pass is way to
long. They should pass every 20 min-30min not 45 to an hour. Most
of the respondents gave negative feedback about the convenience of
the bus schedule. SURVEY QUESTION 2
- Slide 6
- Do you like the bus routes? What do you like and dislike?
Explain. Findings: 35 out of the 42 surveyors responded with a
dislike to the bus routes. Only 7 responded that they liked the bus
routes. Analysis: Surveyors answered: No huge complains. It would
be great if there was a bus stop across the street from millenium
for fast cat. I wish the c2 would stop across the street from
Merced college on M st. when heading toward the village apartments
so passengers don't have to sit 30 minutes waiting until the line
goes around to target then back to Merced college. A stop on the
opposite side would be nice :) it might also cut down on passengers
for the c2 line, as it is usually packed in the morning with
students standing. Other than that, the buses are convenient. No,
the busses should come more often. Our Analysis: Surveyors stated
that buses should have more routes and should run more frequently

- SURVEY QUESTION 4
- Slide 8
- Do you feel that the buses are over packed? Findings: 51.02%
answered yes and 51.02% answered sometimes and 2.04% said that it
did not apply to them. Analysis: There is an equal amount of people
that state that the buses are over packed and that they are
sometimes over packed. This means that there are certain routes and
times that are more packed than others. SURVEY QUESTION 4

- SURVEY QUESTION 5
- Slide 10
- How often do you think the buses should run? Findings: 71.43%
want the bus to run every 15-20 minutes. 28.57% want it to run
every 20-25 minutes and 12.24% want it to run every 25-30 minutes.
Analysis/thoughts: According to the data we can see that a vast
majority of our students surveyed want the cat tracks to run more
often. SURVEY QUESTION 5
- Slide 11
- Do you feel like there are enough bus routes downtown? Explain.
Findings: out of the 49 students surveyed 39 answered that there is
not enough bus routes downtonwn, 6 answered that it does not apply
to them, and 4 answered that there is enough bus routes downtown.
Analysis: A majority of the students surveyed will like to have
more buses to run downtown. SURVEY QUESTION 6
- Slide 12
- Do you like the weekend bus schedule? What do you like and
dislike? Explain. Findings: Out of the 49 students surveyed 37
answered no, 9 answered that it does not apply, and 3 answered yes.
Analysis: the weekend schedule sucks because it doesn't start till
11am so for people that have campus event before that are screwed.
No. It's hard to get to school and the buses run late and with huge
gaps. I don't like how the E lines (E1 and E2) are not specifically
titled because people get confused about the two. I feel like there
should be one that has Amtrak, the college, and other living
facilities on one route. Students find the weekend bus schedules to
be inconvenient to them because they run too late and they are not
specific. SURVEY QUESTION 7
- Slide 13
- Do you think it is fair to pay an $87 fee from tuition for the
bus? Would you be mad if the the price went up? Explain. Findings:
39 out of the students surveyed answered that it is fair to pay an
$87 dollar tuition for the cat tracks, 10 students answered that it
is not fair. Analysis: Many students answered that they would be
mad if the price of tuition went up. SURVEY QUESTION 8

- SURVEY QUESTION 9
- Slide 15
- Would you like cat track stop markers? Findings: out of the 49
students only 47 answered this question. 97.87% answered yes and
2.13% answered no. Analysis: Majority of the students surveyed want
Cat track stop markers. SURVEY QUESTION 9
- Slide 16
- Do you have any final comments about cat tracks? Findings: out
of the 49 students surveyed only 31 answered. Some students some of
the concerns they had about cat tracks and any recommendations or
changes they feel that needs to be made. SURVEY QUESTION 10
- Slide 17
- Why dont we run buses every 20 minutes to make it more
beneficial to students schedules? Karin Groth said that there was
not enough funding for many buses to run so frequently.
Analysis/thoughts: There must be a different way to get funding for
the buses such as donations and contributions from the city.
PROFESSIONAL INTERVIEW QUESTION 1
- Slide 18

added more buses. Answer: She said that as soon as the student
population equals out to the money needed to have more buses, then

- To reduce confusion and danger, why hasnt UC Merced added Cat
Track stop markers? Answer: Karin said that the city needs to
approve where the stop markers will be placed and also, we need
