The diagram above demonstrates how the Flight Explorer Message Translation Subsystem (MTS)

serves as the central point of integration for all relevant OCC systems. The Flight Explorer ASD

fulfills the flight tracking requirements of the OCC and the MTS will support the connection of

multiple client applications to the other systems of the OCC.

The Flight Explorer MTS accomplishes the

integration by translating information from each

vendor specific application program interface (API)

into a generic Flight Explorer format. The informa-

tion will then be directly integrated into the ASD

product via the Flight Explorer FLEX interface or

translated into additional formats and sent to other

systems based on client requirements. The sub-

system will also provide the client middleware

application that feeds the company-wide data

repository with access to the OCC system data.
