GRAND KNIGHT CORNER
Brothers: Here I am again looking for help! I know sometimes it is hard to make our meetings, so I am asking those that were not at our last meeting to help our council keep up a very worthy event. I am looking for a chairperson to take up the reins for the basketball free throw event that we have coming up in the next couple of months. You will not be alone on this because our council always shows up for the event to help out. A lot of young kids look forward to this event, so please consider chairing this event. Also, please buy or sell those Football CRAZR tickets. It is a great way for our council to raise funds and you also have, I believe, 20 chances at winning some money. Till next time. See you at our next meeting or reverse raffle. PEACE! G.K. FOOTBALL FUND CRAZR SWEEPSTAKES
Great news Brothers, we have 73 tickets sold and have reached 70% of our goal! Only 31 tickets to go! If you have sold/purchased your tickets, THANKS so much; if not, please do so. Remember, the Football Fund Crazr Sweepstakes gives us an opportunity to earn back that per capita money. If we sell 75% of our membership (that’s 104 tickets), we will be credited for our entire per capita bill. YEA@!!! But it gets better…. besides the credit for approximately $800, we will also get $5.50/ticket sold. That’s a grand total of ($800 + (5.50 X 104) $572) for a total of $1,372. You have been sent 3 tickets to sell/purchase. If you need more, please let us know. All ticket stubs and money must be turned in to me by no later than Oct 25th, so we can forward them by Oct 27th. This is one of the easiest fund raisers we have and can earn us in excess of $1,300, which will be used this Holiday Season to bring smiles to many of the less fortunate. And you know what? There is over $25,000 in prizes being awarded to over 230 winners ranging from $40.00 to $400.00 weekly. Winners will be notified and paid automatically each week by the Ohio State Council! Thanks again Douglas E. Szygenda consultdes@att.net PO Box 52, Mantua, OH 44255 Financial Secretary Council 3766
DONATIONS/VOLUNTEERS NEEDED By Larry Parsons We will be selling tickets for a Booze Basket at our Knights of Columbus Reverse Raffle on October 12th. Please consider making a donation of beer, wine or liquor. Your generous donation will be included in the Booze Basket. Please get your generous donation to Larry by the September 16th meeting. The cost of the tickets for the Booze Basket is $20 for a wingspan. In addition, we will be selling a Lottery Tree. You may donate scratch off lottery tickets to be displayed on the Lottery Tree. The cost of the Lottery Tree raffle ticket is $20 for a wingspan. Please consider donating your time while attending the Knights of Columbus Reverse Raffle. We are looking for volunteers to sell raffle tickets for the Booze Basket and volunteers to sell the Lottery Tree raffle tickets. Our Knights of Columbus Reverse Raffle is always well attended. Ed Zwolinski Donny and Cathy Sherbondy KEEP THE KIDS WARM CAMPAIGN By Bob Zullo
It is Fall, and the season that we start collecting hats, gloves and scarves for kids of all ages, as well as new or slightly used winter coats. Our deadline this year will be December 13th. If you can help, please call me at 216-469-6953 to make arrangements for a drop off at the hall. This drive is in conjunction with Portage County Catholic Charities. Each year we help hundreds of local families keep warm during winter months. Your donations are greatly appreciated.
FOOD & TOY DRIVE Deadline Dec. 6th Greetings again Brother Knights; the time is fast approaching for us to again start collecting food and toys for the 4C’s. We need your help to fill two trucks with food and toys. The 4C’s are almost bare to the bone. A lot of people need help not only at Christmas time, but all year long. Please help by bringing in food or toys to our council meetings in November and early December. Our cutoff date this year will be December 6th as we will try to deliver the food on the 9th or 10th of December. Thanks in advance to anyone bringing in toys and non-perishable items. Hope everyone has a Joyous and healthy Thanksgiving and a very Merry Christmas. God Bless You, Bob Zullo, GK, 216-469-6953
