Spanning five levels, Prahran HighSchool incorporates everythingyou’d expect from a modern school,including a library, gymnasium,theatre space, specialist teachingspaces, outdoor spaces, andadaptable learning environments.
We developed two ‘slipped andshifted’ planes around a centrallight-filled void. By offsetting eachlevel, the void evolves as it runs upthrough the building, exposing morespaces to natural light and providingunique learning spaces visiblethroughout the building – almost likea gallery of education. Externally,this configuration also allows foroversized balconies – outdoorspaces crucial to wellbeing,teaching, and learning.
