LANGKAWI ISLAND FISHING VILLAGE

• Pulau Tuba a hilly island and the only inhabited one , besides

the main Langkawi Island .

• It is a strikingly beautiful island located 5 kilometres from Kuah

and a 20 minutes boat ride .

• All the resident living in this islands are mostly Muslim so it is

also known as the Islamic Island.

• It is a traditional fishing village and the villagers prefer the old

ways of drawing water from the wells although it provides all

the other facilities like power, fresh water supply , telephones

and they also provide a number of homestay program

• The Island is not fully developed thus contain a natural home

ground to wildlife and has an ample growth of herbs and

• Pulau Tuba is a beautiful, remote island located 5km

southwest of Kuah Jetty.

• It has a traditional fishing village, rare wildlife and plants, as

well as a number of homestays.

• It is also the only inhabited islet in the area, aside from the

main Langkawi Island, and is reachable via a 20 minute boat

ride from Kuah Jetty.

• Villagers live a relatively traditional lifestyle on the island,

where they often venture into the forest covered hills to gather

medicinal herbs, fruits , and honey , when not fishing and

farming.

• Pulau Tuba is a great place for nature lovers as bird watching ,

cave exploring and jungle trekking. Spot a variety of wildlife

throughout excursion , especially hornbills.

• Macaque monkey have a vey intricate social structure and

hierarchy.

• Long tailed Macaque are ecologically diverse and in Malaysia

we can see a group of them in coastal lowland forests and the

swamp forests.

• Within groups, a strict linear dominance hierarchy lead by one

alpha male followed by the beta male, and females breeding.

• This hierarchy is determined by such factors as age, size and

fighting skills.

• The juvenile is the lowest in the hierarchy and they need to

search and submission the food to the upper of the hierarchy

• Serama Chicken is an ornamental breed originating in the

Kelantan State of Malaysia within the last 50 Years

• The breed is also known as Ayam Serama and Malaysian

Serama

• It is the smallest chicken breed in the world, weighting less

than 500 grams.

• It is a true bantam chicken breed and is not stndardized yet.
