SEASONAL PARK RANGERJOB DESCRIPTION

1.To ensure that the Council’s by-laws and regulations for parks and open spaces are observed.

2.To assist with the operation of Park Visitor Centres and supervision of volunteer stewards.

3.To assist with the organisation and supervision of guided walks, talks/slide shows, educational visits and special events in Enfield’s parks and countryside.

4.To patrol parks and countryside areas as directed and to assist with the supervision of volunteer wardens.

5.To help maintain the safety and security of parks and countryside facilities and to report on any incidents that may take place. When required, to give evidence on behalf of the Council in any civil or criminal proceedings brought by or against the Council.

6.To assist with keeping Enfield’s parks and countryside clean and tidy, including the removal and disposal of litter.

7.To assist with directing and controlling vehicular and pedestrian traffic in Enfield’s parks.

8.As required, to issue tickets and collect fees and charges, to supervise the use of paddling pools within parks and to drain these as directed.

9.Any other appropriate duties.
