To evaluate an expression, substitute a number for a variable

Example 1: Evaluate 3n + 7 when n = 3

Example 2: Evaluate n ÷ 2 + n when n = 4

(use PEMDAS)

Example 3: Evaluate 9 + 3p – 5t + 3 when p = 2 and t = 1

(use PEMDAS)

Example 4: Evaluate m² + y/5 when m = 2 and y = 35
