Every Easter Sunday the congregation of Freeland contribute to the floral cross display
at the front of the church. This year the cross will still be there as a symbol of hope,
through the resurrection of Christ, to anyone who sees it. This is a very popular display in
the calendar of the church, not just within the congregation but to the villagers and
beyond - just look at the crowds taking pictures of it after the Easter Sunday service.
Some of our congregation are disappointed to not be able to contribute and to
perhaps not even see it in the flesh this year. However, we would like the children (of
any age) within our congregation to recreate the colourful display of crosses in a
different way. Simply draw, paint, colour or otherwise make a cross to display in a
prominent window of your own house during Holy Week. You can share this idea with
friends and relatives through any means. Contained within are several different crosses.
Feel free to either create your own or print one of these to use.
Share your Cross In The Window with the world on social media too!
Let’s celebrate the risen King by showing the world the joy of the cross!
