To log in:

1. Select ‘USMC’ for Wireless Network Connection

2. Use your Student ID and password

Log in with your User Name and Password, like how you log on your computer terminal

To access the SUSSED Portal: https://sussed.soton.ac.uk

Do check out some of the functions when you have the time

Default Student page inside the SUSSED Portal

Click on the ‘Library’ tab to access the library homepage

The Resources section has details of all our collections both electronic and print.

Note that you can always use “Quick Links” to quickly access the frequently used services

Click on the ‘Services’ tab to see the available library services

The Library Services section includes information about Loans, the Reserve Collection, Inter-Library Loans etc.

Click on the ‘About Us’ tab to read up on the other libraries

The About Us section has lots of information about the library.

Click on the ‘Subject Support’ to access the list of all course disciplines

The Subjects section has a webpage for each discipline – your Subject Page. Simply find yours in the list.

There is a collection in the ‘Resource Room’ in the Malaysia campus.

Many books are available online

Let us know if you have problems

Access to journals

Most journals are available online

Some older years are only in print in Southampton (Most first and second year students do not require them)

Let us know if you need journal articles only available in print

Access - on campus

Generally no passwords are needed– A few need your Institutional (email)

username & password– A handful have special

usernames/passwords

If you have problems– For journals check our access on

TDNet– For other resources use links on the

library website

Access – off campus

For many resources Institutional Login is an option

VPN will give you the same access as on campus

Some TDNet functions do not work off campus without VPN

Look for ‘Institutional Login’, ‘UK Federation’ or ‘Shibboleth’ links

You often need to select the UK (or UK Federation)

Then find ‘University of Southampton’

(If you can’t find us look for

This book is your actual Mathematics’ textbook

Tick this book to only find eBooks

Find the right book

Click on “MyLibrary” to access the electronic book

Log in as an Institute (Shibboleth)- Select “University of Southampton”

You may now browse your e-book
