Principal’s Message Term 2, Week 1
Thank you to all the families who took the
time to show respect to our service men and
women yesterday. The ANZAC Dawn
Service in Lindenow was a beautiful service
with a lot of attendees. Our school captains,
Ryan Waller and Sharna Miles, spoke with
confidence and engaged the audience. Well
done to both students and the families in attendance.
Field Days – Thank you to all the families who are attending and assisting at the Field Days this weekend. The
committee has been working extremely hard and we appreciate everybody’s input to our school fundraising at the
event.
NAPLAN – In a few weeks’ time, the Grades 3 and 5 students will be participating in NAPLAN. There doesn’t need
to be a massive emphasis on NAPLAN at home or at school. It is simply a process that reflects, gives a snapshot, of
a student’s academic ability at that time. It doesn’t define their future or how successful they will become. Come in
and see me if you have any questions.
Pupil Free Day – We are looking at having a pupil free day on Friday 24th May. All staff at our school will be
engaging in SWPBS (School Wide Positive Behaviour Support) training with Tricia Newgreen. The training focuses
on behaviour management, building relationships and positive tracking. It fits in perfectly with the 3 Rs (Respect,
Responsibility, Resilience).
Early collection of students – A reminder that if you need to pick your child early, can you please go directly to the
office to sign them out and Judy or Lu will contact the classroom to retrieve the student. Thank you in advance.
Keep smiling,
Mr Cairns

WOOLWORTHS EARN & LEARN 2019
Woolworths Earn & Learn is back and it is now easier than ever
to earn valuable equipment for your primary school, secondary
school or Early Learning Centre. In our last campaign, more
than 16,000 schools and Early Learning Centres benefited from
the program, boosting supplies in classrooms, libraries, music
rooms, gymnasiums and science labs.
It's simple to participate. From Wednesday 1st May and Tuesday 25th June 2019 or while stock
lasts, when shopping at Woolworths you can collect Woolworths Earn & Learn Stickers from the
checkout operator, via team members at the self service checkout or through an online order and
place them on a Woolworths Earn & Learn Sticker Sheet. There will be one Woolworths Earn &
Learn Sticker for every $10 spent (excluding liquor, tobacco, and gift cards). Once completed,
simply place the Sticker Sheet in the Collection Box, either at your school or at your local
Woolworths.
