Terminology • “Play side” – refers to the part of the line of scrimmage that is
closest to the call of the play. For example, if the play is 36 Power, the play side offensive linemen would be the right guard and right tackle. If the play was 37 power, the play side offensive linemen would be the left guard and left tackle.
• “Backside” – Refers to the part of the line of scrimmage furthest from the call of the play. For example, if the play was 36 Power, the backside offensive lineman would be the left guard, left tackle and possibly the tight end or “Y”, depending on the formation. If the play was 37 power, the backside offensive linemen would be the right guard, right tackle, and possible the tight end or “Y”.
• THE NEXT PAGE TWO PAGES WILL GIVE YOU A BREAKDOWN OF THE NUMBERS ASSOCIATED WITH THE QB, FB, TB, AND Z AND LOCATION OF THE HOLES .
