Our experience: In Extremadura we are developing the LinEx Empresa

project. www.gnulinex.net It is the next step in the development of the gnuLinEx

global project, addressing in the private sector The main objective of LinEx Empresa: to create wealth

in our region with the use of Floss. Starting in October 2003.

The project identifies three essential parts: Technological companies

Those who provide or will be able to provide technological solutions based on FLOSS

Traditional SMEs Those who want to modernize with the use of technological solutions. Final clients of the technological companies.

Public Administration Interested in the local development and to give a quality public service

to the citizens

Opportunities Use a better technological solution for their management

Saving cost Adaptability Security.....

Challenges To identify what is best option for them, pay for licenses or services To bet for something new, difficult ? Take time in learning a new management solution

Technological companies

Opportunities Opening of a market traditionally based on licenses where the

regional technological companies never could compete They have never had resources to develop killer applications.

To cooperate in innovation and to compete in services

Challenges Change their business model, return of the investment by services not

licenses ( consulting, updating, formation...) To cooperate in innovation and to compete in services

Develop a strong regional sector of technological companies based on services around FLOSS applications. Create wealth and employment in our region.
