THE DAMEN LIQUEFIED GAS CARRIER IS AN OPTIMAL VESSELFOR THE TRANSPORTATION OF GASES IN ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY WAY
VARIOUS TYPES AVAILABLEDAMEN LPG CARRIERThe Damen LPG Carrier is deliverable as a fully pressurised and semi-refrigerated vessel.
DAMEN ETHYLENE CARRIEREthylene has an atmospheric boiling point of -104ºC. In this design, the vessel has the ability to carry most other liquefied gasses. In combination with LPG cargoes increases the flexibility of the vessel.
DAMEN LNG (BUNKER) CARRIERMethane has an atmospheric boiling point of -162ºC. Equipped with an LNG bunkering arm, this vessel fulfills the latest market demands. The main engine and generator sets can use the boilof gas (BOG).
DAMEN COMBINATION CARRIERCombined cargoes such as LPG, Ethylene, VCM and LNG.
The Damen Liquefied Gas Carrier (LGC) is primarily designed for the transportation of all sorts of liquefied (cryogenic) gasses, such as methane, propane, ethylene and vinyl chlorid - monomer. With the LGC, Damen offers a vessel which fulfills the latest market demands.

The layout of this LGC includes a wheelhouse giving an optimal view of the deck only for cargo operations, but also when sailing at sea and manoeuvring at close quarters. The crew accommodation is modern, comfortable and efficient, with the well-being of the crew key consideration.
Special attention is paid to high comfort levels which are obtained by noise and vibration reduction and by use of high quality materials. The LGC series is designed to the latest ergonomic and comfort standards.
DESIGN OF WHEELHOUSE AND CREW ACCOMMODATION
DRASTIC REDUCTIONS IN FUEL CONSUMPTIONWith an excellent endurance, economic fuel consumption and the possibility to run on MGO, HFO380 or LNG (dual fuel), the LGC is a very efficient vessel.Damen set out to create a vessel that was able to carry various liquefied gasses, in line with the demands of today’s market.
PROPULSION CONFIGURATIONThe LGC can be installed with dual fuel main engine(s) which are running on a combination of MGO and LNG (methane). The boil off gas (BOG) will be used as a fuel for the main engine or other consumers such as generator sets. This allows the vessel to use BOG in a clean and environmentally friendly way.
PROVEN TANK DESIGN AND LAYOUTThe cargo tanks and their supporting systems are supplied by well-known and reputable subcontractors. For the vessel this is the backbone of successful operations with minimum downtime and optimal economy in operation. The LGC will be equipped with cylindrical IMO tank type C tanks. This solid tank type allows high loading rates and needs little maintenance.
EXCELLENT SEAKEEPING BEHAVIOUR In the design process particular attention was paid to the bow and hull. The new distinctive, sleek bow and slender hull enables the vessel to sustain its speed and course in head seas, as well as helping to reduce fuel consumption. The bow design leads to less acceleration and slamming has been reduced to a very low level, improving comfort and safety.

ENVIRONMENTAL CARE■ The LGC is supplied with a Green Passport, which gives
an inventory of possible hazardous materials on board.■ Fuel tanks are protected with cofferdams and the vessel
has a Zero Dumping Certificate.■ Optional scrubbers can help gain the benefits of HFO sailing
and reduce emissions.■ Optional sailing with dual fuel engine using the boil off
from the LNG tank.■ Excellent handling of the pressure build-up in the LNG tanks.■ During the design process special attention was paid to
sustainability. The combination of materials, workmanship and Damen’s experience ensures a long lifetime for the vessel.
BUILDING ON SITEDamen Technical Cooperation provides a prefabricated shipbuilding kit and can, on request, combine this with expert assistance, training and backup. By using standardised components, it is possible to create a custom-built design, fulfilling specific local requirements.
