Objective

• To enhance understanding on decent work issues among teachers in Latvia on national scale.

• Increase in number of collective agreements signed in 2 year period

• Increase in % of working members of LIZDA against all working teachers in 2 year period

• Exchange of experience with our partner – Trade Union of Education in Norway

• On needs and wants of education and science employees in terms of securing stability and decent work conditions within the scope of collective agreement

• Campaign “School Day” – deputies of local municipalities and parliament (Saeima) as well as management of Science and Education Ministry of Latvia becomes “shadows” of teachers for a day

• National contest “For Teacher Friendly School” – development of criteria, information activities, selection, awarding

• World Day for Decent Work – conference in Riga, Latvia on issues related to decent work

• Assessment of teachers workplaces in terms of securing decent work conditions

• Discussions in all regions of Latvia

• Training programme and seminars in all regions of Latvia for trade unions, employers and employees on collective agreement issues
