Theworkshop is held at FerndaleHigh Schoolin the quiet town of Ferndale, Washington,located within fifteen minutes of Bellingham,the beach at Birch Bay State Park, and theUS/Canadianborder.

DR. REBECCA MACLEOD,

featured guest clinician, isAssociate Professor of MusicEducation at the University ofNorth Carolina, Greensboro,where she is director of thestring education program andconducts the UNCG Sinfonia.Prior to joining the UNCGfaculty, she was the assistant

artistic director and conductor of the TallahasseeSymphony Youth Chamber Orchestra andPhilharmonia Orchestra. A native of Pennsylvania,she taught elementary, middle, and high schoolorchestra in Hollidaysburg, PA and was orchestradirector and music activities chairman in Beaver,PA.Dr.MacLeodispublishedinnumerousnationalmusiceducationjournalsandservesontheeditorialboard for the Journal of Research in MusicEducation. She has served on the ASTA NationalBoard and is past president of the North CarolinaASTA chapter. Her research on working withunderserved populations, vibrato technique,musicteachereducation, andmusicperceptionhasbeenpresentedattheInternationalConferenceofMusicPerception and Cognition, NAfME NationalConference, ASTA National Conference, MidwestBand and Orchestra Clinic, and Society for MusicTeacherEducation.
