Sarah decided to check out Rachels talk at PodCamp because she liked the collaborative theme. Obviously developers and marketers should work together. Think of all the cool things people would achieve!7

Drawn in by Rachels talk about Maker Space and the Internet of Things, Sarah approached Rachel after the session and asked to have coffee, just because. Thought process: This girl does some cool stuff. I like to do cool stuff. We should chat.8

When Sarah mentioned her crazy story, Rachel seemed to feel comfortable sharing HER crazy story, and the collaboration began.9

ARG!An alternate reality game or augmented reality game (ARG) is an interactive networked narrative that uses the real world as a platform and uses transmedia storytelling to deliver a story that may be altered by players' ideas or actions.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alternate_reality_game
RACHEL
The form is defined by intense player involvement with a story that takes place in real time and evolves according to players' responses. Subsequently, it is shaped by characters that are actively controlled by the game's designers, as opposed to being controlled by artificial intelligence as in a computer or console video game. Players interact directly with characters in the game, solve plot-based challenges and puzzles, and collaborate as a community to analyze the story and coordinate real-life and online activities. ARGs generally use multimedia, such as telephones, email and mail but rely on the Internet as the central binding medium.
ARGs are growing in popularity, with new games appearing regularly and an increasing amount of experimentation with new models and subgenres. They tend to be free to play, with costs absorbed either through supporting products (e.g. collectible puzzle cards fund Perplex City) or through promotional relationships with existing products (for example, I Love Bees was a promotion for Halo 2, and the Lost Experience and Find 815 promoted the television show Lost). However, pay-to-play models are not unheard of.

The collective conscious (?)25
The Hive MindCollective conscious or collective conscience is the set of shared beliefs, ideas and moral attitudes which operate as a unifying force within society. The term was introduced by the French sociologist mile Durkheim in his Division of Labour in Society in 1893.

SARAH
Although Sarahs earliest encounters with interactive storytelling can probably be traced back to text-based video games, Chrono Cross was probably the thing that triggered Sarahs interest in interactive storytelling. Long time ago, but the multiple endings controlled by decisions made during gameplay fascinated her.

For more than two decades, cole Gamine has largely flown under the public radar, despite providing thousands of young women with an unconventional education to help address the power and pay balance between the sexes. If its either play or get played, then the graduates from this school are definitely playing.
Former students have found work as senior politicians, high-flying lawyers, famous artists, prominent scientists, respected engineers and award-winning teachers. Thanks to the schools strong and well-connected board, progress seems effortless and the schools secret activity in subliminal, persuasive nudges go unnoticed.
Thats until a successful business magnate named Eric Glanheim manages to worm his way into the organization by seducing Iris, one of the Boards original founders. When his agenda is exposed, EG quickly takes action, Eric makes it his mission to take down the school, but is quickly thwarted and arrested.
And for a while, everythings back to normal until Eric escapes from his cell and disappears without a trace. Before long, cole Gamine finds itself the target of a conspiracy and faceless campaign to ruin the school. 39

The dark net is a world of power and freedom: of expression, of creativity, of information, of ideas.
Power and freedom endow our creative and our destructive faculties. The dark net magnifies both, making it easier to explore every desire, to act on every dark impulse, to indulge every neurosis.

RACHEL Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life.
Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking.
Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice.
And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.

RACHEL I'm interested in things that change the world or that affect the future and wondrous, new technology where you see it, and you're like, 'Wow, how did that even happen? How is that possible?
59
RACHEL Today, most historians of science and technology do not believe that major innovation is driven by a lone inventor who relies only on his own imagination, drive, and intellect, says Daniel Kevles, a historian at Yale.
Scholars are eager to identify and give due credit to significant people but also recognize that they are operating in a context which enables the work. In other words, great leaders rely on the resources and opportunities available to them, which means they do not shape history as much as they are molded by the moments in which they live.
[Elon] Musk is known, after all, for humiliating engineers and firing employees on a whim. In 2014, when his assistant, who had devoted her life to Tesla and SpaceX for 12 years, asked for a raise, he summarily let her go. 60
BAM!
RACHEL A growing body of research indicates that women, when given a fair shot, are better at high-growth entrepreneurship than men. Not just as good as the men. Better.
In July, First Round Capital released some startling numbers. The seed-stage firm examined 300 of its investments across almost 600 companies, revealing that those that included at least one woman founder performed 63 percent better, as measured by increases in valuation, than those founded by all-male teams.
In a similar vein, the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation showed that women-led private technology companies have a 35 percent higher return on investment than male-led ones.
When they get venture money, these women-led companies generate revenues that are 12 percent higher than those of comparable male-run tech companies. And a study by Illuminate Ventures demonstrated that women use capital more efficiently than men.61
Scale of Digital DreamingYes, do learn to code (at least a bit) + invest in culture, explore imagination & philosophyQuestions > ideas > solutionsCreative action over protest. It your Web/Internet too!Likewise, dont complain about banner ads if you pirate mediaJourney over destination. Increase your apertureMultiple brains are always better than oneThe million-dollar-business is rarely the million-dollar ideaIf someone steals your idea, it wasnt yours in the first placeEmbrace complexityhttp://benroseart.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/ben-rose-light-photography-art-seeing-with-your-eyes-closed.jpg
RACHEL 3) Dont complain about Uber/Airbnb if youre not prepare to explore a better creative solution. 62
Humanity is a process. Always was, always will be. Every living organism is on its way to becoming. And the human organism even more so, because among all living beings (that we know about) we are the most open-ended.
Kevin Kelly, Founding Executive Editor of Wired magazine
RACHEL In this era of screen-based social lives weve developed a type of paranoia - that the path to success lies in hoarding our dreams, and by keeping them hostage, we become extras in someone elses mental view of the world. We convince ourselves that realising the success of an idea lies entirely in our own heads. And this is either very safe because nobody is mocking us up here, or its deeply troubling because we have the type of mind that is constantly telling us we cant do this.
Sarah and I have demonstrated today that we are in fact far more likely to see an idea emerge in our physical world by sharing it with others, ideally as many people as possible. The odds of you meeting someone who can help you outweigh the odds of someone stealing your idea. There will be some who will say youre weird, or risqu or simply wrong for pursuing this idea and I dont know if theres any great way to turn down their volume, but theyre also outweighed by the enthusiasm, offers of support and shared humour by many others.
But now that weve told you about our idea and our craziness, you become part of our story and we evolve again. Weve come to the end of our presentation, but wed welcome any questions, comments and ideas on the story so far or what we should do next!63
