The Process
The third illustration in the Aesthetic Guide for the Dapper Man features Fossil styled with the ostentation and style of Steven Onoja.
This is Look 2 of a pair of illustrations for the feature. We are about to walk through the process from drawing to finished painting.
It began with styling Steven in Fossil.

Creating the illustration- deciding on composition and balance was important before painting the final illustration.
Then the sketches began.
It was important to create each of the two looks that featured Steven in Fossil unique from each other while allowing them to be complimentary.
Then the sketches began.
At this point I was satisfied and excited to get started. Look 2 plays up a casual sophistication that complements Steven’s high fashion aesthetic.
The Painting
All of the Under-Drawing is created using a Pentel GraphGear 500 mechanical pencil with .5 hb graphite sticks.
The painting is created using multiple types and sizes of brushes including Daniel Smith, Trekell, Robert Simmons and Starving Artist brushes.
The paints are a mixture of liquid, tube and dry watercolors.
All of the Under-Drawing is created using a Pentel GraphGear 500 mechanical pencil with .5 hb graphite sticks.
