Preface Welcome to the 2012 edition of the Province of Ontario Breed Specific and All Breed Rescue Directory, a project undertaken by Speaking of Dogs. We hope it enables users to unite dogs to people, and people to dogs. Please note it is not possible for Speaking of Dogs to obtain each rescue group’s policies and procedures. It is up to each sheltering organization to acquire these details from the rescuer prior to releasing a dog into their care. Sheltering organizations may wish to question policies such as spay/neuter, foster care arrangements, housing, adoption contracts, home visit protocol, veterinary care and/or return policies. Our volunteers have contacted each rescue and shelter in an effort to provide this directory with accurate information. Most rescue organizations are run solely by volunteers, however, and despite their best efforts, life changes are inevitable and key contact people may no longer be in a position to help their rescue organization. Please let us know of any errors or omissions for inclusion in our 2013 directory. Without the financial backing of our advertisers, this directory would not be possible. Many thanks to the businesses and individuals who purchased advertising space, demonstrating their support and commitment to the ongoing efforts of dog rescue. This year the directory has been formatted and designed by Jacque Newman. She has spent many hours seeing to every detail and helping advertisers design their ads.
