Higher Ground

CCLI #606984

I’m pressing on the upward way

New heights I’m gaining every day

Still praying as I onward bound

“Lord plant my feet

On higher ground”

Lord lift me up and let me stand

By faith on heaven’s tableland

A higher plane than I have found

Lord plant my feet

On higher ground

My heart has no desire to stay

Where doubts arise

And fears dismay

Though some may dwell

Where these abound

My prayer

My aim is higher ground

Lord lift me up and let me stand

By faith on heaven’s tableland

A higher plane than I have found

Lord plant my feet

On higher ground

I want to live above the world

Though Satan’s darts

At me are hurled

For faith has caught

The joyful sound

The song of saints

On higher ground

Lord lift me up and let me stand

By faith on heaven’s tableland

A higher plane than I have found

Lord plant my feet

On higher ground

I want to scale the utmost height

And catch a gleam of glory bright

But still I ‘ll pray

Till heaven I’ve found

“Lord lead me on

To higher ground”

Lord lift me up and let me stand

By faith on heaven’s tableland

A higher plane than I have found

Lord plant my feet

On higher ground CCLI #606984

Sermon: GodlinessScripture: 1st Timothy

3:14-4:9

Key Verse: 1 Timothy 3:15 ( NASB ) …I write so that you will know how one ought to conduct himself in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and support of the truth.

1 Timothy 3:16-4:9 ( NASB ) 16 By common confession, great is the mystery of godliness: He who was revealed in the flesh, Was vindicated in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Proclaimed among the nations, Believed on in the world, Taken up in glory.1 But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons, 2 by means of the hypocrisy of liars seared in their own conscience as with a branding iron,

1 Timothy 3:16-4:9 ( NASB ) 3 men who forbid marriage and advocate

abstaining from foods which God has created to be gratefully shared in by those who believe and know the truth.  4 For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with gratitude;  5 for it is sanctified by means of the word of God and prayer.

1 Timothy 3:16-4:9 ( NASB ) 6 In pointing out these things to the brethren, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, constantly nourished on the words of the faith and of the sound doctrine which you have been following.  7 But have nothing to do with worldly fables fit only for old women. On the other hand,

discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness; 8 for bodily discipline is only of little profit, but godliness is profitable for all things, since it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.

1 Timothy 3:16-4:9 ( NASB ) 9 It is a trustworthy statement deserving full

Thrive

Here in this worn and weary

land

Where many a dream has

died

Like a tree planted by the

water

We will never run dry

So living water flowing

through

God we thirst for more of You

Fill our hearts and flood our

souls

With one desire

Just to know You and to

Make You known

We lift Your name on high

Shine like the sun

Make darkness run and hide

We know we were made

For so much more

Than ordinary lives

It's time for us to

More than just survive

We were made to thrive

Into Your Word we're digging deep

To know our Father's heart

Into the world we're reaching out

To show them who You are

Joy unspeakable

Faith unsinkable

Love unstoppable

Anything is possible

Great I Am

I want to be close –

Close to Your side

So Heaven is real and death is a lie

I want to hear voices

Of angels above

Singing as one

Hallelujah - Holy Holy

God Almighty - Great I Am

Who is worthy - none beside Thee

God Almighty - Great I Am

I want to be near –

Near to Your heart

Loving the world - hating the dark

I want to see dry bones living again

Singing as one

The mountains shake before You

The demons run and flee

At the mention of Your name

King of majesty

There is no power in hell

Or any who can stand

Before the power

and the Presence of the Great I Am

The Great I Am

The Great I Am

The Great I Am

The Great I Am

The Great I Am
