Introduction on Marina Barrage

• The opening date was on 1 November 2008.

•  It was one of Singapore's fifteenth reservoir.

•  It provides water supply, flood control and a new lifestyle attraction.

How does the Marina Barrage work

• The barrage has nine numbers of 26.8-metre-long hydraulically operated steel crest gates, it will be built across the 350m wide Marina Channel to keep out sea water.

• During heavy rain, the steel gates will open to release excess storm-water to the sea.
