• Biophilia is “the innate tendency to focus on life and lifelike processes (Wilson, 1).”

• Examples include water features, natural lighting, wooden furnishings, plants, and other types of biomimicry

• In classrooms, reduces stress and increases intellectual ability

COLLABORATIVE LEARNING

• Layouts and teaching styles• Movement, flexibility, and scale• Meeting the unique needs of learners

WHAT WE LEARNED

• Planning and research are pivotal

• If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, don’t assume that it’s a duck

• Make news friends and keep the old

• Check in frequently and don’t be afraid to abandon ship when necessary
