I am pleased to announce
that we have added a new
sport to our offerings.
Corn Toss. This sport will
run at the same time as
softball since it is part of
the EKS Games. The state
game will be held on Sun-
day September 14, 2014.
The coach for this sport is
a coach you might know
from basketball. Gary Nel-
son. He is also the one
that donated the corn toss
boards and bags for our
teams. I welcome him to
our big family. May he be
with us a long time.
New Sport!!!!!!
Hacienda Gives Back Fiesta
Our Hacienda Gives Back
Fiesta was such a great hit
that Hacienda said we
could do another. This one
will be held on Monday the
8th of September. The
tokens will be up on our
website, you can get them
from any of the Manage-
ment Team and there are a
set in this newsletter. We
did so well last time, lets
see if we can do as well or
better this time.
A note to all that bowling
will be starting up. We will
start bowling in Plymouth
at Quick’s Lanes on August
20th from 3:30pm EDT to
5:30 EDT. We will start
bowling in Knox at Bowla-
way lanes as soon as I can
get a time set, watch for
the call out email.

I really need some stories for
this column. They can be
stories about how you did at
an event, your favorite mem-
ory, or even a dream you
have. This is open to any
athlete of any age. A picture
is not required, but I will put
one here if you send it in.

Created by the Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr. Foundation for the
Benefit of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities.
Marshall-Starke Special Olympics is a not-
for-profit organization that provides year-
round sports training and athletic competi-tion for children and adults with intellec-
tual disabilities. Marshall-Starke Special
Olympics is part of the international net-work of accredited Special Olympics Pro-
grams that reaches nearly 4 million ath-
letes with intellectual disabilities world-
wide.
Sport is a universal language that unites people on and off the field of play. Its
lessons are relevant to all. Using sports
training and athletic competition to help break down barriers that have historically
kept people apart, Marshall-Starke Special
Olympics promotes meaningful inclusion and acceptance for children and adults
with intellectual disabilities in Marshall
and Starke counties. These experiences ultimately create an inclusive environment
where everyone benefits and little by little,
the world changes. The sport is the me-dium, but the real power lies within the
Special Olympics experience and all the
people it touches.
Let me win, but if I cannot win, let me be brave
in the attempt.
