I was born 19th of November 1905 to Samuel Arthur and Harriet

Louisa Meikle Gordon in Cache, Fremont County, Idaho. I had a

normal childhood. I was the apple of my father's eye. He loved me

very much and would do anything for me. I was baptized 29th of

May, 1915. I started school in 1913.

I married William Constant when I was about sixteen years old.

This marriage never worked out, we were divorced. (No record of

this marriage in "Utah, Marriages, 1887-1966"). However the

I was a waitress all my adult life. When I was about 23 years old

(about 1928) I went to Chicago, Illinois. Here I was a waitress in

several different places. I made a good living for myself

I met Herbert Lemay about one and a half years after I went

to Chicago. We were married 7th of December, 1931, in

Chicago, Illinois. We have had several business adventures

as everyone does. Some were good, some were bad, but we

learned from each one.

We have one daughter born 18th of March 1936. Her name is Erma Jean. We have lived in Chicago

nearly all our married life. In about 1950 I came to Salt Lake to visit. This was my last trip. In about

1955, I had a very serious time with my throat. I was in the hospital for a long time. It left me so my voice

was damaged.

After about three years we moved to Memphis, Tennessee, where my husband worked in a loan office. He

worked in finance most all the time. Then we moved to Miami, Florida, where Herbie managed a loan

firm.

In about 1967, I had a stroke. It left me paralyzed on my right side. I can sit in my wheel chair and move

around a very little. I had speech therapy and can say a very few words very slowly.

Erma Jean is married. They live in Miami, Florida also. They have one son,. Erma Jean is very attentive

to me. She makes my life worthwhile.

At this time I am 67 years old (about 1972)
