The seed fell on all of them.

What happened to the seed?

The birds came and ate it up.

It sprang up quickly … but when the sun came up,

the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root.

What happened to the seed?

The thorns grew up and choked the plants.

What happened to the seed?

It produced a crop – 100, 60, or 30x

what was sown.

Who does this soil represent?

Anyone who hears the message aboutthe kingdom and does not understand it.

Who does this soil represent?

The man who hears the word and at once receives it with joy.

But … he has no root.

Who does this soil represent?

The man who hears the word, but is preoccupied with

the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth.

The man who hears the wordand understands it.

Who does this soil represent?

What do these people have in common?

They all hear the message about the kingdom.

What happens to the word in his life?

The evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart.

What happens to the word in his life?

He lasts only a short time.When trouble or persecution comes

because of the word, he quickly falls away.

The worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth

choke it, making it unfruitful.
