Highlight: Building Community Resiliency through Resource Pooling and Sharing

Implementation

• Barangay provides a counterpart from their BDRRM fund to cover expenses on training consisting of modules on hazard mapping, risk assessment, disaster camp management, action planning, firefighting, basic life support, and emergency response

• Municipal LGU provides counterpart of providing resource speakers and trainings equipment in coordination with the Provincial DRRM Council.

RESULTS: OUTPUTS & OUTCOMES Barangays have organized DRRM Committees. Barangays had prepared their DRRM Work and

Financial Plan, and Action Plan. Barangays have undergone DRRM and emergency

response the trainings: 185 barangay officials trained on DRRM. 584 trained emergency responders in the barangay.

Highlight: Trans-Boundary Cooperation for Watershed Reforestation and Climate Change Mitigation

IMPLEMENTATION

• Assessment of the Sibalom Watershed and its impact to San Jose de Buenvista based on a scientific study.

• LGU coordinated with DENR to adopt a forest reserve in Brgy. Aningalan, San Remegio, Antique.

• The LGU also consulted the barangay LGU of Aningalan and the municipal LGU of San Remegio re the social acceptance of the San Jose dB’s plan.

RESULTS: OUTPUTS & OUTCOMES• LGU finally signed on Nov. 28, 2011

agreement with DENR with Municipality of San Remegio as witness.

• 50 hectares in Brgy. Aningalan, San Remegio adopted by San Jose dB LGU.

• On going reforestation.

• Establishment of rain gauge in the upstream
