Each component has a traceable provenance and full profile. And because of standard product line diversity and a high degree of production automation, Coilcraft CPS delivered costs are often much lower than the alternatives.

Applications for Coilcraft CPS components include RF, timing, power and sensing in implantable devices (such as pacemakers, defibrilators, neurostimulators), telemedicine, glucometers, biosensors and hearing aids. Diagnostic and monitoring instrumentation is another medical area supported by Coilcraft CPS, including non-magnetic inductors for MRI systems.

Coilcraft is a privately held company, founded in 1945 as a custom coil maker for the many consumer electronics manufacturers that were clustered around the Chicago area at that time. As the electronics industry matured and diversified, Coilcraft continued to focus on customer needs and continually developed new and more advanced products. Today, Coilcraft produces inductors and transformers for major customers worldwide in telecommunications, computers, instrumentation and other electronic products. Coilcraft CPS was a direct outgrowth of that customer focus.

RF ChiP iNduCtoRS ANd tRANSFoRmeRS – high performance in the smallest possible size. Each coil is designed to maintain rated performance under harsh conditions for vital product applications. Available in multiple case sizes with both military and aerospace grade construction.

AiR CoRe (SPRiNg) iNduCtoRS – designed for VHF-UHF RF applications requiring aerospace/medical-level performance. Inductance linearity of the coil is not affected by changes in current, so that performance is maintained and unwant-ed harmonics are minimized. CoNiCAl CoilS – operate as a series of narrow band inductors. Design limits the effects caused by stray capacitance; provides flat bandwidth with high impedance to 40 GHz.

PoweR iNduCtoRS ANd tRANSFoRmeRS span a very wide range of low-power applica-tions. Each is designed to perform under harsh conditions for critical product applications.

SPeCial ComPonent terminationSSpecial termination finishes are available to meet specific requirements for all surface mount or leaded components. These finishes can improve the solder fillet and ensure an exceptionally reliable solder joint. RoHS gold terminations can be replaced with tin-lead finishes for exempt applications; special high-temperature terminations are available for other demanding environments. Components are 100% tested for inductance and any other required electrical parameters, after finishing. Unlike third-party “tinning services” that use generic packaging materials, components are packaged to original factory specifications. This protects the parts during shipping and ensures trouble-free handling during manufacturing.

For specialized applications, there is no need to compromise on component parameters. Coilcraft CPS offers alternate terminations for all components, 100% one-up electrical and environmental testing, testing and screening programs to customer specifications, mil Std/eiA packaging and iSo 9001/2000 production certification. the processing of specialized requests is highly systematized, efficient and reliable.

Coilcraft CPS has testing facilities in North America and in Asia that perform comprehensive laboratory testing services for electronic components. In addition to testing the components we manufacture, Coilcraft CPS provides a wide range of services able to help you determine the reliability of the components you manufacture.

We can perform a complete set of tests in accordance with established stan-dards and specifications or specific tests targeted at reliability, repeatability or compliance to published electrical and physical specifications. We routinely perform qualification testing in accordance with AEC-Q200, MIL STD 883 and MIL STD 202 and provide all the necessary associated reports. Testing is also available for MIL STD 981, MIL STD 83446 and MIL PRF 27 and many others.
