Here comes the holiday rush and we have a lot going on this season. First of all, our State President, Debbie K’s project is the TAPS Program which offers help, hope and healing to all those grieving the death of a loved one, serving in the Armed Forces of America, regardless of their relationship to the deceased or the circum-stances of the death. We are proud she chose this. Our District President Marrick McDonald’s visita-tion luncheon is being held at our post on November 5, 2016, 12:00 PM for lunch then a meeting will be held at 1:00 PM. We will be serving wraps, soup and macaroni salad. Cost of the Lunch is $5.00 p/p. Please sign up at the Legion or contact Ann Marie Cerone at 315-751-0358 for more information or to make a reservation. We are hosting an Election Day Dinner on Tuesday, November 8, from 12:00 PM to 8:00PM. We will be serving Rigatonis, meatballs, chef salad, Italian bread and butter, and a fabulous dessert table. Cost is $12.00 adults, $6.00 children 6-10 and 5 and under free. Take out is also available. So make sure you vote and come have a great dinner. Proceeds go to support our veterans, their families, our community and those currently serving so unselfishly. The Auxiliary is making pies to sell for Thanksgiv-ing. The cost is $12.00 per pie, the choices are apple or pumpkin, either fresh baked at the legion or fro-zen for you to bake at home. The order slips are next to the kitchen door. Pick up for the pies will be No-vember 22nd and 23rd. Limit 100 pies so order early. On November 10th at 6:00 PM we will be making our Stone Soup. The box for donations will be under the counter next to the kitchen door. We refuse nothing. So come and have fun helping make the soup for our Veterans Day Celebration on Saturday, November 12th. We also need auxiliary members to volunteer to work this event for the Legion. Our monthly meeting is Tuesday, November 1st and our monthly bake sale is Friday, November 4th. I re-alize these two weeks are very busy, but your help and support is greatly appreciated. There are signup sheets on the Auxiliary Bulletin Board for all events. Please stop in to sign up.

Greetings fellow Legion members, The riding season is coming to a close, and what a great one it was. We still have the Flags of Honor and Gratitude, and the Veteran's Day Parade ahead. The Riders have made several donations in the last two months. We donated $1500.00 to the Military Courtesy Room, $2010.00 to the annual Clear Path Ride, and $2500.00 to Feed Our Vets. We are very proud of our support to local groups, doing so much for our Vets. As we observe Thanksgiving, please pause and give thanks to our men and women in uniform for their sacrifice to our great country. Our membership stands at 80, contact an officer if you are interested in joining. Our next meeting will be November 8th. Remember that freedom is not free. Support our Troops. Bruce

From the Chaplain: Dear members, You are in distress when a loved one becomes ill, have sur-gery, get injured or passes away, that is understandable, but please let the Chaplain know as soon as possible so our Legion can take appropriate action. I check the obituaries each morn-ing, but if no mention of military service or being a Legion mem-ber, the family may think we don't care which is never the case. Please email or call Chaplain Heidenreich with infor-mation at Akoalah@aol.com or 315-345-0702 or 315-458-3895.
