First Vice-president of the General Council
of the Essonne Department
Pierre Tambourin, Chief Executive of Genopole®
Genopole®’s objective is to foster therapeutic innovation by providing optimal
growth conditions for life science research and biotech companies. With a portfolio
of over 60 companies (over half of which are located on its Evry campus), Genopole®
represents more than a quarter of France’s biotech start-ups. Taking into account
the staff working in the campus’s 23 academic labs, Genopole® accounts directly
for about 2,000 jobs. Around 140 million euros in equity funding have been raised
since 1999, with one or two initial public offerings expected by 2010. Fifteen drug
candidates are in the preclinical regulatory and clinical development phases and are
due for market launch by 2008. These treatments developed in Evry (together with
the expected creation of a clinical research unit within the new Evry-Corbeil medical
center and a Biomanufacturing Center for recombinant proteins and monoclonal
antibodies) will further boost the potential of one of France’s benchmark biomedical
research locations.
This guide will equally show you that Genopole® is a life science park where over
25 companies are now commercializing innovative biotech products and services.
The brochure will help you discover how these enterprises can put their skills and
expertise at your disposal. Of the wide range of services offered here, you will be able
to select those that will accelerate the development of your organization and raise its
performance levels.

FlowgeneFlowgene supplies scientifi c instrumentation with a particular focus on innovative detection systems for use in analytical chemistry (high pressure liquid chromatography and capillary electrophoresis).
Do you need easy-to-use instruments for identifying and quantifying very low analyte concentrations in liquid samples? Are you seeking a highly sensitive detector technology that provides the same low detection limit whilst avoiding the need to use tedious labeling procedures?
Flowgene has developed a proprietary, laser-induced fl uorescence detection (LIFD) technology that integrates a new generation of low-cost 224 nm lasers.Given that most biomolecules (proteins, peptides, neuropeptides, etc.) fl uoresce at this wavelength, Flowgene’s detector eliminates the need to label them.
HPLC 224 nm LINF Detector A 224 nm integrated laser-induced fl uorescence detector, designed for use with HPLC, µ-HPLC or capillary electrophoresis.
Product features■ Native fl uorescence detection■ Performance: 1000 times more sensitive than a
