Mobius completed the circle from concept to installation and beyond. With over three hundred employees, 200,000 sq ft of manufacturing, with showrooms in New York and San Francisco, Mobius had a marvelous run for 30 years on the cutting edge of retail, exhibition and showroom design/build. This is a tribute to the many people who made it possible. In the beginning it will be a sketchy record. With the help of those same people, it will grow.

Rob Strasser, Nike’s Brilliant Director of Marketing Dies at 46

Published: November 02, 1993

PORTLAND, Ore., Nov. 1 — Rob Strasser, an executive of Nike Inc.who

later worked for Adidas during the "sneaker wars" between Europe and the

United States, died on Saturday in a hospital in Munich, Germany. He was

46.Mr. Strasser was the chief executive of Adidas America, a privately held

company started by Adidas, the German athletic shoe and sportswear

manufacturer. He took over Adidas operations in the United States this year,

and moved the subsidiary to Portland from New Jersey. Mr. Strasser and his

longtime business partner, Peter Moore, helped Nike's founder, Phil

Knight, build the company into an international shoe and athletic apparel

giant, forcing Adidas to retreat even on its home turf in Europe. Mr. Strasser

left Nike in 1987 after leading it out of a slump by introducing the Air

Jordan shoe line, using the marketing power of the basketball star Michael

Jordan's name.

Scribner's was housed in a beautiful landmark building at 597 Fifth Avenue. The glass-fronted Beaux Arts-style exterior had been designed by Ernest Flagg in 1913. There was a two-and-a-half-story space behind a lavish expanse of glass and iron, under a vaulted ceiling lined with clerestory windows.
