Bubble TREE

Art and Writing By Geraleigh Holter

Participating in art has taught me the importance of plan-ning. Before I sketch, I plan what I want to do. This same concept can be used in writing. Writing has a pre-write stage in which you plan what you want to write only using words instead of pictures.

Nikola Tesla

I was inspired to draw

Nikola Tesla because

he was a famous In-

ventor from my coun-

try., Seberia. Now

know as Croatia.

Brief FACTS

Nikola Tesla developed

the alternating-

current electrical sys-

tem that's is still used

today, and discovered

the rotating magnetic

field (found in most

AC machinery). He

came to the United

States in 1884, and

briefly worked with

Thomas Edison before

the two parted ways.

He sold several patent

rights, including those

to his alternating-

current machinery, to

George Westinghouse.

His 1891 invention,

the "Tesla coil," is still

used in radio technol-

ogy today.
