4CRMotor Starting RelayAll position, current-type

KEY BENEFITS

Reliable operation and long life inde-pendent of mounting position

Wide range of pick-up and drop-outratings

Start-winding current rating - 25 amps

Small size for installation in compactequipment

Economical

The Klixon 4CR current type motor startingrelay is a compact, high capacity relay, designed for universal application to split-phase and capacitor start, single-phasemotors with start-winding currents up to 25amperes.

ConstructionThe 4CR relay utilizes a balanced armatureto provide positive operation independent ofmounting position. Double-break bondedTop-lay contacts provide excellent electricaland thermal conductivity to provide the highswitching capacity and long electrical life.Silver cadmium oxide is used for the 25amp contacts.

Mounting and TerminalsThe 4CR relay’s compact size and universalmounting allow cost saving reductions inmotor size and elimination of centrifugalswitches. Mounting can be in the motor, inthe conduit box, or remote from the motor.Calibrated in one position for a specific

pick-up and drop-out, the 4CR remainswithin tolerance in all other mounting posi-tions. A variety of mounting brackets, termi-nals and assembly screw extensions areavailable to meet any mounting require-ments.

Pick-up and Drop-out RatingsRatings indicated maximum pick-up andminimum drop-out current limits. Pick-up isthe current through the relay coil required toclose the relay contacts. Drop-out is thecurrent through the relay coil at which thecontacts open. A production relay of a givenrating will have a pick-up and drop-out cur-rent within the rating limit.
