RELIGIOUS GENRE

This music composed to be played in religious context. There are two modes of religious music:

- Liturgical music. Music composed for religious ceremonies.

- Non-liturgical music. Music of a religious character composed for religious purpose.

PROFANE GENRE

This comprises any composition thatserves no religious purpose. Depending on these

two possibilities: - Popular music. In turn this can be divided into:

folk music and light music. - Cultured music. Intended for a cultural context,

these compositions are written in a specific period.

LIGHT AND FOLK MUSIC

Light music. Wich includes any simple, easy-to-understand, generally intented for leisure.

Folk music. Which includes popular folk music from a specific area.

FUNCTIONAL GENRE

This genre applies to music that serves as a backdrop to important events, such as commemorations.

ADVERTISING GENRE

Used for a radio and TV ads, this genre employs in the same way films do.

ROCK GENRE

A type of pop music that developed out of rock and roll in the 1960s and 1970s. It is based around amplified instruments, especially the electric guitar and electric bass.

FLAMENCO GENRE Is a Spanish musical genre. Flamenco

embodies a complex musical and cultural tradition. Although considered part of the culture of Spain in general.
