Phantom of the Opera: Christine’s father dies, leaving her destitute and living in
the opera house under the protection of the dressmaker The Phantom lives in the opera house secretly in the depths
beneath the house. He hears Christine sing and “forces” the owners to let her star in productions.
Raoul is Christine’s childhood sweetheart who wants to marry her and take her away.
When Christine first hears the phantom, she thinks it is her father who promised her he would send her an “angel of music”
