My first year as AMMI brought many lessons.
Although all my actions might not have been smart
the hard work payed off and helped me
to discover new and better ways.
If I had to do it all over again,
I would not change a thing
for then I would not have learnt.
My son taught me a valuable lesson!
Someone told him if you love what you do
you will never work a day in your life!
I love what I do and believe that
Walking the extra mile
might just be the key to
a better future for someone..
~NICOLETTE
Ask around which school presents
a lot of workshops/talks for neighbouring schools.
Make friends with a school by offering
to do a free talk or assess a child or two for a
discounted price, just so that they can find out
how amazing you are.
Then, next time the school presents a workshop or talk,
offer to be the presenter and ‘floor’ the audience
(the introduction to Mind Moves works well).
Soon you'll be invited to a couple of schools
for workshops.

Gebruik post-it notes in Studiefiksheid
vir die regteroog /linkerbrein leerders
wat voorkeur vir netjiese werk het.
Gee Studiefiksheidleerders musiek op CD
en kombineer oefeninge daarmee.
Boximize app om leerders se inligting
op datum te hou.

Probleem: soms betaal kliënt
en gebruik 1ste faktuurnommer
(al is dit 3 fakture later).
Dan moes ek deur klomp leêrs grou
om betaling korrek te allokeer. Oplossing: spreadsheet vir
elke invoice gestuur - dui sommer daarop aan
as betaal is (op papier).
In plaas van kliënte oor 5 dae versprei,
skeduleer eerder meer kliënte per dag (uurliks)
en werk net 2 of 3 dae.
Sodoende weet ek watter dae werk ek heelmiddag
en die res vd week is my middae oop
om saam my kids te geniet.

‘n Jaar vol van toets, terugvoer,
moed inpraat,
in mense se lewens, hul diepste gedagtes, bekommernisse
afhanklikheid wysheid van my Hemelse Vader afbid.
My wenk – wees altyd voorbereid met daardie
sommer ‘n verduideliking
uit die vuis uitprobeer gee .

In the short space of time
of me being an AMMI
I have come to learn the life principle
that over and over again features in everyone of my successes:
FAIL TO PLAN IS PLANNING TO FAIL.
So my top tip to working more effectively
is to put in the initial hard work—
prepare all your necessary logistics,
pre-and post tests.
Be organised.
Then you can get creative and add to your arsenal.
I prefer to plan for each consultation.
Left brain tendency!:)

Study Fitness:
Download all the music
and clips needed
on your phone
using an application
called: 'Video Downloader'.
That way
you have it saved
on your phone
ready to use
over and over again
not using any data.
~CORNE G
I learned that it's ok to not know everything
& to learn from others,
seeking help & admitting when I don't, is ok.
I also used a lot of the info I learned from the conference
like how Smart phones take away from quality time
with my family, so I tried hard to keep off my phone
from 4-8pm when my kids are around.
After that I attend to all my Mind Moves messages.
My Smart phone has enough apps and data
to run my business from which saves me
from having to find time
to put my laptop on.

If I have learnt one thing this year,
it is the importance of concentrating
on one thing at a time.
Be it in your year, the month, a day
or even for that hour.
Trying to juggle too many things at once
just doesn’t work.
Rather pick one, give it 100 percent effort
and move onto the next.
DON’T SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF
focus on what is important.
~LISA
I can only say this year has ended
much better as it started.
It started with so much uncertainty
(what’s going to happen next?)
and caused a tremendous amount of stress.
After our Mind Moves Conference this year
everything turned around
since I realized where I need to be.
I have decided to take a leap of Faith and will be
a full time Advanced Mind Moves Instructor in 2018
and I am not looking back!
I am very excited for what is ahead.
One thing I know is to never give up
on your dreams!

I did some introspection and realised
that sometimes working too hard can be
stressful and this could have a negative impact
on your health and family life.
Working smart for me is using good time management
techniques and setting a deadline for work commitments.
I'm a thinker instead of a doer and in order to work
smarter I should stop procrastinating.
I need to prioritize and organize my tasks that need
immediate attention.
Set boundaries with clients and do not allow them
to invade my personal space and times.
~SUMAYYA
Coming together, is a beginning.
Keeping together is progress.
Working together is success.
Working hard for something
we don’t care about, is called stress.
Working hard for something we LOVE,
is called PASSION.
May all of you have a blessed festive season!
Stay passionate and humble!

In my attempt this year
to try to get more focus on Mind Moves,
I have, ironically, ended up taking on more,
working harder and getting further from
my goal.
But recently a friend gave me this advice -
"Eat the frog".
What!?
Eat the frog - do the WORST,
hanging-over-your-head thing first.
Get it out of the way, feel good about the achievement
and free yourself up to do the things you love -
like eating the icing.
~HILARY
Having a ‘Gosh!’ attitude
means that you’re expressing gratitude
for what you have.
Coming to the end of this year, looking back,
I can just say “Gosh!”
I’m so grateful for waking up in the morning
with a beautiful view over the bushveld.
Gratitude for the privilege to make breakfast for my
loving family, driving to school having a beautiful
view over the Waterberge, making a difference in
many children’s lives on a daily basis and lastly using
Mind Moves to open people’s eyes
to a brighter future. One word says it all:
“Gosh!”

2017 is nie 'n jaar wat ek wil oorhê nie;
2017 has been an incredible year
filled with LOTS of change and challenges!
As an AMMI settling in a new country
I came to realized how privileged I was back in SA
with Melodie not only being the creator of Mind Moves
but also being the face and voice smoothing the path for me
by just doing what she does best – helping children,
addressing parents, coaching teachers, inspiring us and
through all of this CREATING AWARENESS!
So, the need is here in Australia!!
My tip – CREATE AWARENESS
within your community - even if it is only
one child at a time :)

Nogal ‘n tricky vraag…hmmm?
Daar’s ‘n paar dinge wat altyd vir my werk.
Beplan vooruit, hetsy daagliks, weekliks of kwartaaliks.
Hou by jou doelwitte.
Delegeer as dit moontlik is.
~OLGA
It’s not
about
doing it all,
it’s about
doing your
best at all
you can
do.

Tydsbeplanning en prioriteite.
Vir my is die geheim,
maak ‘n lys
van wat jy vandag moet doen,
beplan jou tyd daar rondom,
handel eers dit
waarvan jy die minste hou af
en beweeg dan na
van belangrikste na minder belangrik.
Dis so lekker
om die een ding
na die ander
“af te tick”.
~SORETHA

Work with client
at the time you have most energy.
Write flow of session down on a piece of paper
to guide you when you feel that you are going off track.
When working with teenagers,
I find it best to ask them to really think
about what they want to achieve
before they come to the session -
it helps with goal setting
as some of them often just say
what they think we want to hear
and get the session done with.
~SANDRA
Looking back on a very exciting 2017.
I saw my heart’s desire fulfilled
in becoming an AMMI.
The course impacted my life on a personal level
as well as, career wise.
Meeting Dr. Melodie de Jager was one of the highlights.
During the School’s Improvement Plan meeting (SIP),
poor study methods were identified as one of the reasons
for poor performance by learners during exams.
I saw an opportunity and seized it. Booked a slot with
the principal to address parents during
the first parents meeting, January 2018.
Will introduce them to Study Fitness
to assist with study methods.

I have indeed a VERY exciting job,
but due to my fully-blocked-on-the-left-side MDP,
it can become extremely challenging.
When stressed, absolutely everything I MUST do seemed
impossible. Until one day I realised the solution is right under
my nose: Do Mind Moves! I decided to try it :) and it worked!
I can’t tell you how quickly I change from being a deurmekaar,
can’t hear-see-think-speak-write-take-action-kinda-person,
to feeling calm and up to anything that comes my way.
Working smarter comes easy with daily dose of
Antennae, Mouse pad, Core Workout &
Confidence Booster.
Do Mind Moves -
it comes HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
~LANA
Vir my was die AMMI ondervinding
Laastens moet jy gereeld oplees, kennisverryking doen
en op hoogte bly van nuutste navorsing
waarby mens kan baatvind.

Having new AMMI’s joining the MMI is always considered as a gift.
We Would like to welcome 3 new AMMI’s ,
Lizelle van Niekerk (Port Elizabeth), Brigette Hamilton (Rustenburg), Lente Lotter (Sasolburg).
Thank you for choosing Mind Moves as your new path. Not only will the MMI benefit from it, but

LET’s WRAP IT UP
by ons jaarlikse konferensie nie.
May you REST this Festive Season and take time to replenish your spirit,
so that we have the energy in 2018
to once again enjoy the privilege of making a difference in a child’s life.
Reflect and celebrate your awesomeness.
As AMMI’s we really do enjoy what we do, and we enjoy doing it together.
May 2018 be filled with many opportunities to inspire and empower
and to enjoy even more successes together.
Let your light shine bright!
