Vocationaland safety training through the national Building School system

NATIONAL ORGANIZATION FORVOCATIONAL AND PROFESSIONALIN THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY

16 hour MICS MICS is a FORMEDIL System training

proposal for complying with the

obligations of the Work Safety

Document (Italian law decree

81/2008 arts. 37and 73).

MICS courses are the same all over

the national territory and certifiable,

they last 16 hours and include

classroom work as well as some

hours dedicated to practical work

in the Building School labs and

worksites. The 16 hour MICS

courses are in three areas; training

workers for their first job on the

worksite; ability of using building and

road machinery: foreman and

manager training.

BLEN.ITBLEN.IT is a portal of the National

Building School Exchange, it is an

innovation the experimentation of

which has been promoted by the

bilateral building system to favour

the growth of a work market

based upon competence and skills

and fully satisfies the work

demand and offer. The Work

Exchange, insofar as training

assessment tool, as employee

retention strategy and a solid

building system qualification, aims

at creating a good employment

and turning attention to training

and safety.

EUROPEAN AND TRANSNATIONAL PROJECTS

FORMEDIL, which is part of the

European REFORME network

constituted to promote closer relations

between young professionals and

trainers in the field of building training

as well as good practice exchange, is

responsible for some international

projects in which numerous European

organizations participate (Belgium,

France, Germany, Finland, Sweden,

Portugal and Switzerland). It also

manages some international projects

with countries such as Poland,

Rumania, Tunisia, Morocco, Egypt and

Jordan.

FORMEDILPRIORITY PLANFORMEDIL has a priority plan based

upon the following objectives and

actions;

1. 1. Identify the demand or rather

get to know and investigate the

individual so as to orientate him/her in

his/her professional and training path.

2. Activate some specific tools in order

to assess and certify the training

carried out: data banks, skill repertory

and training portfolio. The portfolio is

an assessment tool attesting the

training activity carried out and skills

acquired. It is continuously updated by

the Building School and accompanies

the worker throughout his/her

working career.

3. Implement the VDP, the individual

Vocational Development Plan that is

the natural evolution of the traditional

vocational training

TECHNICIANS

Building Schools offer a wide range of training courses. This training fully deserves the title of life-long learning and is addressed at both manual workers and technicians operating in the building sector, every School holds the 16 hour courses before entering the worksite, work start-up courses, apprenticeships and safety courses.

Many Schools also organize specialized courses often targeted towards work phases that require technological knowledge or the use of machinery, but also addressed to spe-cial sectors with specific requirements, envi-ronmental restoration management and cultural heritage in general up to quality con-trol and business management.
