NATİONAL SOVEREİGNTY AND CHİLDREN’S DAY

There are a few national festivals in Turkey. They are all celebrated with enthusiasm in our

country.

National Sovereignty and Children’s Day, Republic Day, Victory Day and Youth and Sports Day. Each is a piece of our history. All arise as a result of an event.

They are still celebrated at present. They are celebrated with conspicuous ceremonies every year. People come together on that day and become one

heart.

Everyone reads the national anthem. The band team make the transition

ceremony with songs.

Children read poems and compositions. After that they play folk dances and offer

entertaining shows.

People join ceremonies and so ceremonies come to life. Also students decorate their schools with

Atatürk’s pictures and prepare the ceremony with their teachers.

On those days there are Turkish flags and Atatürk’s photos in the hands of everyone. People decorate

The best time is when Turkish children meet other children from other countries for a period of one week to celebrate the Children’s Day. Each group put their

own shows on stage and spend happy time.

Foreign children are hosted by families. The President and Prime Minister and the head of the

Parliament accepts them and give them presents.

When ceremonies are finished everyone feels thankful to Atatürk for these days full with

freedom.
